Went for this one as a cheaper option out of the two I was considering purchasing based off the star rating and very glad I didWaited a while before reviewing to really test it out and am pleasantly surmised with itNever had a lead like this as didn’t think any would hold a 6 stone British bulldog that pulls like a train but after having surgery on his leg he isn’t aloud off leash for a few month whilst in recovery so wanted to give him some freedom to go ahead and sniff whilst still being leashedOne month in and it’s holding up greatEasy to hold and use on /off lock and the lock is sturdy as my dog hasn’t managed to pull/brake it yet and I actually find he walks a lot nicer on it!

So far I have been very impressed by this lead. The anti-twist works keeping the lead ribbon straight. Unlike other leads that have a spring loaded lock button that engages as soon as you press the larger break button which then jams the break on due to the spring inside working against each other, this lead does not have thet problem.This has a large break button with a manual push catch to lock the break button down.This allows you the choice! The choice where you can hit the break button to stop your dog going to get a mouth full of horse poo and then let them carry on moving freely once your past or shortening the lead to walk down a road for safety, no buttons jamming up.It feel very solid and the rewind spring is powerful as long as it last that way the five stars will stay.

Works smoothly, nice sturdy lead. Does have a short limit like some I have had which is a good and a bad thing, it ends up being too short if you are over zealous in pulling your dog back.Handle is also quite chunky, but I have yet to find an extender I can feed my hand through if I need to free up both hands. Felt like this could have accommodated that given the size.

First time we have had a retractable lead. This is very light and easy to hold. Just the right length to let the dog have a bit of freedom whilst not creating problems with too much lead to get the dog back to you. Easy to use. Just a bit of practise with the locking system but once this has been mastered a good buy. We have a labradoodle so the lead seems strong enough for her breed. Excellent service and quick delivery.

Why didnt I buy it long time ago?!I just had a very relaxing walk.My GSD is a puller, mostly because she gets very excited and is very inquisitive. This lead allowed her to sniff around, walk bit further and explore more without actually pulling my shoulder out of the socket or risking being pulled into some bushes. I had a great control over her movements and she felt more relaxed too.She actually used the whole length twice maybe, because when she felt she is to far from me she was walking back on her own. We met few dogs on the way (she is not friendly towards other dogs) but I could easily keep her on a very short lead using the locking mechanism and treats as a distraction . The lead snapped after 6 weeks so not as heavy duty as advertised. Bought for a 7 month cocker spaniel who doesn’t pull the majority of the time…only when excited.

Really pleased with this, I have an excitable dog, so went for the heavy duty version of this lead and its perfect. The build quality is solid and the ratchet feels strong and dependable. The strap does tangle a bit, but that's more due to the bouncing whirling mutt on the end of it. 5M is a perfect length, far enough to let the dog explore, but close enough to haul him back if needs be. I expect many years of happy walks with this one (and we've been through a couple of the other retractable leads by other reputable companies in the last few years!).

Been using this daily for over a month with our bruiser boy bulldog. I've had people comment on it whilst out walking.Although the boy is short & stocky we had to go for a large for recommended KG. It's strong, durable, looks nice, easy to use. All round great lead. Easily on par with a Flexi, but better for the money!My only improvement would be maybe grip where your hand sits... Or a wrist attachment (personal preference, I'm clumsy)
