In the short amount of time I have been using this case, I have been extremely pleased by the protection as well as the utility it has given my Z10.First off, the level of protection is superb for my needs. I have often carried my phones in one of the front pockets of my jeans, and thus most of the phones I had used bear some scratches due to them rubbing shoulders with everything else in my pocket. This case offers excellent protection from that. The downside is that the flap of the case, especially the edges, pick up lint like nobody's business, and its suede-like material scuffs easily too, but just a few rubbings of the case with a slightly damp microfibre towel (which I have aplenty) that I do every night makes everything look new again.I do not see any reason why the lack of a way to lock the flap in place is a disadvantage, aside from the possibility that the flap might open when the phone is accidentally dropped. The flap stays flat and closed even after extended periods of the flap being folded out of the way and/or in stand mode prior. Its auto-turn off smart function always works, lessening the drain on the battery. Also, one's hand is enough to keep the flap closed when carrying the phone. In fact, in my daily use, this is an advantage: without a way to lock the flap closed, it is easy to use just one hand to flip open the flap with a flick of the wrist, look at the lockscreen for any messages, swipe up to remove the lockscreen with the thumb of the same hand, peek into the Hub if needed using the same thumb, even open the message if needed with the same thumb, then close the flap with a flick of the wrist again.Although some have reported that the presence of the flap makes using the phone, especially typing, less comfortable to use, I have never found this to be the case. For those who have found the flap uncomfortable while holding the phone at portrait profile, try this: hold the phone with your left pinkie in between the phone and the flap folded at the back. You will find that this will equalize the height of the left and right thumbs from the front of the phone, and even makes your hold of the phone more secure than if the flap was not there.Fold the flap into its stand mode, and you have a handle for your left hand, perfect for holding the phone when your right hand is busy, for example reaching for that can of soup while looking at the grocery list in your phone, and even gives you a good grip when taking pictures (although I have not checked the effect on the use of the flash, which is not covered by the flap in stand mode but whose flash may still be partially obscured at the left side).I also do not understand why people are griping that there is/are no hole/s in the flap for access to the microHDMI and microUSB ports. No holes mean protection of the said ports and no weak points for the flap where tears can happen and where lint can get attracted to. Besides, the phone looks really nice when the phone is charging at bedside mode and the flap in its stand mode.All in all, this official Blackberry product deserves a perfect 5/5 (or maybe 4.9/5 for its attraction to scuffs and lint, and no hole to see the LED at the upper right) for providing the protection and battery longevity I need for my Z10, as well as adding to its over-all usefulness and ease of use.

I am in the market for a new Blackberry Z10 case because after having this case for a little over 2 months, I have had enough with its issues.The Good is that is fits the phone nicely, doesn't add too much bulk and has a flip cover that protects the screen... mostly.Another (theoretically) good feature is that there is a magnet built into the cover that interacts with the traditional Blackberry magnetic "sleep" sensor so the phone goes to sleep when in a case (always standard on previous Blackberry holsters.) - This is also the cover's WEAKEST FEATURE in my opinion.As far as quality: At first it seemed, OK. The cover material (a microfiber / faux suade material) seems nice and won't scratch the screen, however in time it frays, and becomes a bit too flimsy. The plastic case, cracks too easily... I dropped the phone twice and both times, it cracked the case in different places... The first broke a small tab that holds the cover to the phone, dislodging the phone and in the other, it just cracked the case so the phone doesn't sit tightly within anymore. - The phone didn't really get damaged, so in theory, I guess it did it's job.My biggest complaint, however is that the cover, which as others have pointed out is too stiff when you first buy the case and doesn't stay closed - eventually breaks in and closes quite nicely. BUT THIS IS WHERE THE COVER BECOMES A PROBLEM...The magnetic sensor automatically "wakes" the phone when you open the cover. I've had all kinds of weird sleep / wake / reset issues with the phone because of this (I'll blame BB on that) but once the cover breaks in, it no longer stays in the right place.. so when carrying the phone in a pocket, the cover seems to move around causing the phone to wake / sleep / wake / sleep, etc... This has caused my phone to freeze, but mostly, it gets hot and runs down the battery VERY QUICKLY!Some kind of a snap-close or magnetic closure would be helpful. (Of course, the ability to disable the "wake on cover opening" feature would be nice, too - I haven't found this on the phone if it exists. - I love the idea of the screen protection, but the rest of the problems is why I'm looking at a different case to buy at this time.

Originally I purchased this cover in White. I loved the usability and styling, but the color became dingy and stained quickly which bothered me. This color has worked out much better for me.Pros:• Easily slips on to the Z10 without damaging the phone.• All buttons and ports are accessible without having to remove the case.• The flip over piece helps preserve battery life and locks the screen to prevent any accidental selections on the screen.• The flip over piece creates a stand that holds my phone at angle that’s easy to see when seated at my desk.• The scarlett red color is bold without being too over powering. The black hard cover piece and black interior on the flip piece is a perfect accent to the red.Cons:• The material part of the case still needs to be wiped off from time to time to keep it from getting dingy.• Holding the phone while on a call is a little weird because of the flag at first but is easy to get used to.• When the flap is open there is no protection for the screen which is okay for me, but may be an issue for others.The case provides solid protection without adding a ton of extra weight. I would definitely recommend this case to other Z10 users.

I really like how this case helps save power on my phone when you close the case. It is a bit tricky to get used to using the keyboard with the flap in the way.

Great product

This is a good case, well made and durable. I don't see owning another Z10 case. I can't think of anything else to say.

Ich habe nach langen suchen das Handy gefunden,welches meinen Ansprüchen gerecht wird.Es sollte ohne Touchsreen sein,eine lange Acculaufzeit haben,Übersichtlich gestaltet sein und eine gute E-Mail bzw.Terminverwaltung besitzen!Das alles habe ich bei meinen BB gefunden und bin sehr zufrieden.Sicherlich gibt es auch für mich Kritikpunkte:die Umlaute ein zugeben ist meiner Ansicht kompliziert,die Schreibtastenfunktion ist etwas zu klein geraten,aber mit etwas Übung ist das zu beheben und es ist wirklich schade ,das es für BB kein Handbuch gibt.Das kleine Einführungsheft zum Schnellstart ist eine Farce.Deshalb gibt es nur 4 Sterne.Ansonsten habe ich nichts an BB aus zusetzen und ich weiss heute schon,das ich bei dieser Marke bleiben werde.P.R.
