Amazing.
One word: Amazing. With a variety of sounds and effects, the Zoom B2 is exceptional. The amp modeling is far superior than its competitors, and I always seem to have an answer for any tone I want. The distortion isn't the best but it's decent enough for practice. You might want to invest in a big muff pi. But as far as quality, this thing is built tough and the settings are really straight forward if you read the manual. This may seem daunting at first with a bunch different parameters, but take some time to read the manual and it'll be quite rewarding when you dial the right tone for your needs.

Have not played w/out it since.
I have got back into bass playing after a 15 year furlow. I have owned my B2 for 4 months. I purchased this because in my band we push the bass thru the main sound system and my stage amp is just my personal monitor. I wanted this to emulate a cabinet sound coming through the main sound board, to give myself a little control over the shape of my sound in different songs. I feel it does a good job of that. This thing is built solid. There are many 'cool' effects, many not practical for stage but fun to fool with. I use several out of the box on stage, mostly the cabinets. My favorites are the trace elliot (B3), and the SWR (B6). Some of the cabinets are a little distorty so I don't use them. The C6 setting MoSoul is a real bottom dweller that I like on a slower or bluesy tune. I can't say enough about the Fretless sound.(A7) That one is a beauty for Chris Deburg's Lady in Red. I sometimes have folks ask how I get that sound. I find the customizing of sounds to be fairly simple once you read how to do it and try a few. Love the tuner, and now I hate my old Matrix tuner that I had to set to every note I checked. I play a little guitar on stage and I run thru the B2 as well. It has a nice reverb. Overdrive is OK. Many of the standard effects (chorus/tremelo) work nice on guitar. Do I like it? I have not played bass without running thru this unit since I got it. I play parties, bars, and weddings with it. Works decent as a guitar effects too if you need it to. Does a lot for what you pay for it.

What's missing...?
Not bad, for an effects pedal.I would have rated it higher, but I had one previously (2009) and it had some really great sounds on it.One of the sounds that I wanted was a "Pat Metheney" type sound (and some other "synth" type sounds) which are NO longer in the pedal. They're probably in the higher priced model, now. - What a "bummer!"To be honest... I don't even use this for the bass anymore. But, it sounds pretty decent with my guitar.

After using this, I've concluded that analog effects are better than digital.
After trying this pedal out, I've concluded to never go digital again. It's very noisy, and the sounds are just too cheap sounding. After I returned it, all my pedals are now analog and they have that natural warmth or quality electronics. No more digital effects for me.

Sucks all the Volume from your bass
Yeah I thought this thing was amazing for about a week, after that I took off the headphones and hooked it up to an Amp, all of the tone and volume is just completely sucked out when this pedal is in use I tried to go through the setting and try to fix it but then it would make my amp just squell a really high pitched ring, so I reset it to factory settings a few times and tried and tried this pedal is great for practice but once you plug it up get ready to turn your amp up even louder, The bass pre-settings are very awful it claims to model other amp Models, Well it doesn't...The Description says"The Zoom B2 Bass Multi Effects Pedal features the new ZFX3 processor loaded with 9 preamp/cabinet and 5 stomp box models faithfully accurate to the originals in every way."Faithfully Accurate is the wrong word for it when I started using the pedal I couldn't get much volume for anything, I also wanted to use it as a tuner and turn all the effects off but theres no setting for that either it still sucks all your volume out!"Many conventional pedal effects make the low end sound thin and lifeless." Well this pedal takes your Low end and makes it sound like an over compressed volume reduced low end MP3 terrible! low endI love how the description tries to tell you what other pedals do wrong when this pedal does everything wrong the only thing it does perfectly is tune, I have had no problem what so ever tuning the low b string, as with other tuners I have had don't do so well, with headphones on this makes a perfect practice tool but thats the only reason it gets 2 stars but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone

It's great, it works, you can get a bunch of different sounds of out it.
I got this pedal for my thunderbird. It's great, it works, you can get a bunch of different sounds from it. I thought I was buying this for the distortion and the auto-wah, but the amp simulations are top notch too. I dialed in a patch for a "Stingray" that I now use as my standard when playing with my band. The distortion patches are great as well, and you can tinker with them to great effect. The digital synth in this is awesome, you can make a variety of weird alien sounds for different genres. You could even dial in a dubstep patch. I'm working on a patch for a "cello" sound for the solo in Nirvana's "The Man Who Sold the World" with my band.

Worth the Money
This is a really good multi effect bass pedal for the money. The stomp buttons are sturdy enough and the effects are reasonable in quality. So far, I haven't had any issues with it. You might not want to take it on stage, but it's a very inexpensive way to sample some different effects and figure out how to use them in your music.I use this with several basses. But mostly with my Fender Squier 5-string. The funk and fuzz effects really compliment the vintage sound of any Fender bass, in my opinion.
