Perfect fit
My wife's HP laptop got to the point where it would not charge. It says plugged in and charging, but it never goes higher than 29% charged. I searched the internet for remedies and I tried them all. Nothing worked. I finally downloaded the HP battery diagnostic and it indicated a failed battery. Once I determined the correct battery for this laptop, I searched Amazon for a replacement and found this one. It arrived quickly and was a perfect fit. This particular laptop does not have a battery access door and it requires the removal of the entire back cover, not an activity for the faint of heart. Taking my time, and watching some You Tube instructional videos it went well. The battery charged to 100% in a reasonable time and has been working great ever since. This is a good battery for a good price.

stopped my laptop
Worked for a short while then caused error messages at start-up creating nightmares to get my unit running again. Caused overheating of my laptop. I initially went to Best Buy for help, big mistake as the geek squad should be renamed the ripoff squad. Purchased another battery this time Amazon choice and was along with a new fan and took it to a local repair shop. The fan purchased on Amazon was also defective but was able to get my laptop running again for a very reasonable amount using the new battery and original fan

Great Battery, Great Price
This battery was a perfect replacement battery for one of our teens' HP Laptop. He is an art student and really needed to be able to use his laptop when he could not plug in. This battery works great, just like when it was new. Thank you so much!

longevity
The original "HP" battery was a letdown. It lasted 24 months prior to swelling up and distorting the keyboard. HP was of little help and although similar models with the same battery were recalled and replaced at no cost my laptop was outside of the model range and not covered. After my experience with the original battery I opted to replace the battery (no easy feat as it is buried deep inside the laptop chassis) with a non HP part. So I purchased the above battery at what I felt was a very reasonable cost and installed it. My laptop was once again charging properly and working as it should. Now I know any rechargeable battery has a finite life span, however after 18 months of use I am experiencing charging issues again. The diagnostic results are that the battery has failed and needs to be replaced. Maybe my expectations are too high but I felt that I should have gotten more life from this battery. I've owned many laptops and have never needed to replace a battery prior to upgrading the entire system. This laptop has all the bells, whistles and speed that I need so once again I'm in the market for a battery....

To early to tell if battery life is going to be good but there are a couple of things to be aware of
this replacement battery is exactly what I was looking for. I know each laptop can be unique in the steps one must go through to replace the battery. Mine is an Hp Pavillion and there are at least 10 tiny screws to remove in order to remove the whole bottom of the laptop from the top. As you know, this battery is actually on the underside of the keyboard and thus inside of the laptop. It is a little tricky to pry apart the bottom shell from the top but if you google it you should be able to get visual instructions. I did have 2 nagging issues with this battery replacement. First, one on the screw holes on the battery where it gets screwed to the motherboard was to small and I had to carefully drill it out to get the screw to go through so this might be an issue for some folks. Second, once I had it all back together things appeared to be working nicely with one caveat, I could not get the battery icon to show up on bottom right side of the task bar no matter how may things I tried. Finally I clicked on "problems with this order from my recent Amazon orders and I had someone chatting with me rather quickly. This person I am pretty positive of was actually an Amazon employee and he was quick and precise on walking me through the steps to get the icon back so that I could visually see the status and charge pct of the battery. So I do have to hand it to Amazon (and give them some high praise and congratulations for being there for customers like me!!!!) for having knowledgeable folks to help fix things that in my mind aren't really their problem, rather a problem that the manufacturer of this battery should have been responsible for. And to be clear, I am not affiliated with Amazon whatsoever, just so surprised on how this problem was addressed. Ok, he battery has been in place for 2 weeks and so far so good. As I just looked, it shows it is charged at 100% but the real story will be on how long it will power the unit when it is not connected to power and what will its life be. Time will tell.
