These are okay, but there are some issues
These work well when you first get them. They are surprisingly lightweight and comfortable. The batteries do not last very long. You might get 3-6 hours of reading out of them before the light becomes too dim to read in complete darkness and the batteries need to be changed. That's when you might start having some issues. The covers are difficult to remove and I was scared I was going to break the cheap plastic, so I had to be extremely careful. The circuit boards need to be completely removed in order to change the batteries. It's takes some careful finagling to get the board out without breaking the LED. Once they are out you have 4 batteries to change. One of the battery holders on mine was soldered in backwards, making the battery impossible to remove because the switch was in the way. Because of this I had to bend the cheap metal battery holder and push the battery out the wrong side, then bend it back once I replaced the battery. I won't be able to get away with this very many times before the metal simply snaps. Once the batteries are replaced, re-inserting the circuit board and getting it back in place is even more difficult than taking it out, and replacing the plastic cover is also difficult. I discovered while doing this that one of the replacement batteries included was completely dead. This is an okay product that could be made FAR BETTER by using permanent rechargeable lithium batteries that can be charged via USB. Then you could simply plug the glasses in when you are done reading and they will be ready for next time.

Perfect Gift
After listening to my husband and mom saying they can't see to read small print, or put in a small screw, or do the crossword puzzle I decided to gift each of them a pair of these eyeglasses. For the price, it would be fine if it didn't work out. Truth be told, I thought they were going to think it was a gag gift and the glasses would be tossed in a drawer for the next 5 years. To my surprise they both loved the glasses. I bought the 2.5 glasses by accident and gave those to my 86 year old mom. After receiving those in the mail and seeing how sturdy they were I bought the 1.75 pair for my husband. My mom loves wearing them at night to do her puzzles. She says they hit the paper just right so she can see while she is reclined. Husband has used them quite a few times now for repairs where he needs more light and for reading the very tiny print on bottles and packaged directions. I highly recommend this item for those of us who are aging, maybe have cataracts an really need to throw some light on the subject.....

Problems with changing the batteries.
This is a pretty good deal except I'm having a problem changing the batteries. I was pleasantly surprised to find there were 'extra' batteries included, but I can see why now. The batteries that were already in the glasses only lasted a total of 4 hours, and for a marathon, night reader like myself...that was a little disappointing. I went to change the batteries and discovered one was too large. The set-up is a mystery to me and I still can't figure out how to replace them. The old ones are encased, with no visible way of removing them. I even had to bend one of the metal prongs but stopped there before I broke them. I'm still trying to work that out so I can use them again.

Ok quality, not good enough for a regular reading glasses user
I was looking for more lighted readers as options for the higher priced Foster Grant readers. I ordered these as a 3 pack, and while they were much cheaper, the reason became apparent soon. The optic glass is a cheaper grade, not as clear, the lights dimmer & shorter lasting, and the durability isn’t what I expected. These just break too easily. They are ok for an occasional user, but for someone who needs readers regularly, they aren’t sturdy enough. I’ll continue to look for other options, but for now will wait for Walgreens often used special of “Buy one, get one free”.

Great for reading in bed at night.
I like these glasses for bedtime reading. I turn off all of the room light and they provide light for reading very well. They are light weight. I would advise to go one step up for the reading glasses though to make sure they will meet your needs. Affordable and they work.

Fit is a bit loose
They do work well but I was under the impression that I could wear them over my glasses. They just fit me a bit too loose for that while working downward and sitting. Still a good product if they were tighter.

So far So good!, but not super bright.
They are decent made for the money. Wish the lights was a little brighter but so far so good!

not worth it
i bought for a hen i embroider because i feel like straining to see the stitches is giving me a hunchback. they’re not that good...the light is not bright enough to be effective. also, the glasses are cheap so they sit kind of crooked. all in all, i would have returned them, but i missed the return window. like some of the other reviews say, they may be good if you only need a dim light for something like reading, but to see something clearly like thread, they don’t do the job.
