You can use these as a temporary belt replacement. Really heavy steel, not easily opened but no kung fu grip required either.Grandson keeps pulling the fabric bins off his toy rack, I used these to pin the fabric bins to the rack and the inside cover/base of the bins hides them from his view. I’ve had one of these pins for decades. Simple and useful blanket pins… I order a batch to give as gifts along with beautiful cardigan sweat coats and the ladies were so pleased. I put two in small jewelry boxes and put that in the box with the sweaters and a couple scarves.

I only find likes to this point, and would recommend them. They are safe and strong.

These safety pins are sturdy and don't open accidentally. But they are not sharp enough.
