I got this because I got tired of running out of butane and having to throw out disposable lighters. I can't speak for durability since I have not had it long enough to rate that. However, it is well made from metal parts, not just plastic. It should hold up well. The battery gauge is a series of lights. It is good to know the state of charge. The instructions do say to not let it stay plugged in once it is charged so the battery life will not be shortened. Howver, it does not look like it will need to be charged often. I have lit some candles, but not anything else. I have activated it to view the little plasma arc. It is overall quiet, but after lighting one candle, it was making a sizzling sound that subsequently went away. There might have been a slight bit of carbon or wax from the wick that got on one or both of the terminals. That has since stopped making the sound and is quiet again.I like this lighter and might purchase another in the futre to keep in our camping trailer.

The media could not be loaded.  This lighter lights quickly is easy to use and is rechargeable. It is perfect for my jar candles! It rechargeable with a mini USB charger. There is a slide lock for safety that slides up ot unlock then you push the button to light. The slide lock moves easily so I would not for example pit it in my bag lest the lock slide up and button depress. Battery does seem to deplete pretty quickly but that's okay!

I have a gas stove with the electronic igniters for the burners, but sometimes the igniters don't activate right away and there is a mini explosion under the pot/pan when the gas does ignite. This lighter has worked like a dream and ignites the gas so fast that it doesn't have time to "explode," The gas just ignites like it's supposed to. My wife uses it for her candles and it's great for those that have burned deep into a jar as well as the tealights. I'm waiting to see how it does with Sterno, which we use with the fondue pot. I haven't had it long enough to comment on its durability, but I really like it right now!

Works perfectly the only thing I don’t like it’s how whenever you light a candle it gets black at the burns. I feel like whenever I’m using it it’s burning itself, because of this I always have to wipe it off after I use it or else it comes off whatever surface I put it down on. I was also a bit bigger then expected. I thought it would be pocket size but it’s more like the size of a regular torch your see. I was looking for convince that’s why I brought it now I just use it for my candles and incense around the house.

Most butane liters are so difficult to use with all the child proof features and are so wasteful. This lighter will last for years and can be used to light anything from a candle to a grill or even a fire while camping. The charge lasts well and it recharges very fast. Great to have in an emergency kit too!

Works as it should. Pretty convenient. However the charge doesn't last long. I think it lasted a month before i had to recharge.During the recent blackout in Texas, the battery was dead. So thank goodness i still had a manual lighter in the apartment. I would say make sure you have a box of matches or one manual lighter at home in case of emergency.

These are extremely useful. I purchased several to place in different parts of my house where I have candles. One good thing about these is the fact that they are rechargeable. They are also extremely easy to use. One downside is that I wish it was actually slightly harder to turn on so that I have more peace of mind that something is not going to rub against it and turn it on. The likelihood of that happening is low but I would still appreciate a slightly safer design.

I bought it to light mosquito coils.It charges completely in 24 hours or so, then takes close to 20 mins to get one lit.And then the lighter discharges completely, the last LED starts blinking.Time to recharge it!Did I mention it literally gets as hot as lava ?Perhaps it's only meant to light a candle or so.But the seller touts it as ideal for campfires, a more complicated undertaking.In which case, it should have been listed as returnable on the product pageAmazon offered me a refund on the item. Thank you, cc!But they did not accept the item in return.I feel sorry for the seller.Pro tip: please allow returns on the product page, sir.At least you get the item back.

As ordered last week on Amazon, we received the item today but we are very disappointed to receive the damaged item. Lighter is not working and we tried to charge the battery for 2hrs but power bar is still at 20%. We wanted to replace the item but sadly the Amazon says purchased item is not eligible for refund or replace. We are shocked to see such unethical business of Amazon.

Use it to light the candle and coil, so far all good.I have to update my comments 3 months later. The battery drain really fast! I only use it occasionally, probably once or twice a month to light up a candle. It needs a recharge after 3 or 4 usages. Therefore I update the rate to 2 as I still like its safety and convenience but really disappoint with the battery.

Very easy to use and charge. Arrived with charge but it makes a scary high pitched sound every time it lights. I assume this is to do with it being electricity, but it still makes me nervous.Quick arrival time.

Amazing product, was done with cheap ones... so decides to go with this... now using this even from more than 3 months.... just get charge and go.... battery life is amazing... even more than 20-25 days
