Skechers Men's Elite Flex - Wasik Loafer

I was in the market for another pair of work shoes, as my other pair of Skechers was showing some wear, and I chose these, since the other model was unavailable. I am female with gigantic wide feet who has to wear orthotics due to being extremely flatfooted & having plantar fasciitis. Finding shoes I can wear to work in womens' sizes is nearly impossible (11.5 W in womens') so I wear men's shoes, which are far more comfortable and easier to find in my size. These shoes are absolute perfection! Soft, lightweight, durable and comfortable, they accomodate my orthotics perfectly, and keep me comfortable during the longest shift. I work in a hotel and I'm on my feet up to 12 hours a night, and my feet have never felt better. An added bonus is that they seem to be slightly water resistant-even more so than my last pair. I've worn them in the rain/dropped wet linens on them and my socks stay dry. However, if I stepped in a puddle they'd probably soak through. Their design is unisex-not overly bulky, sporty or masculine looking, very understated and nice looking with a work uniform. They slip on with ease and conform to your foot instantly.

I am overjoyed with this product! Living in Japan, it is very difficult for me to find shoes that fit. I end up looking only for shoes that fit rather than shoes that I like. On the other hand, it is very difficult to find shoes that fit comfortably when ordering online. Even if a shoe is listed as being the correct size, without actually trying it on, it's very difficult to know how comfortable it will actually be. I bought a pair of Skechers about 5 years ago when visiting the US and I found them to be the most comfortable shoes I had ever worn. The memory foam insole was what made them so comfortable. I had a family member purchase and send me another pair of Skechers with the same type of insole but the style of shoe just did not work for me. I have continued to wear my old shoes way past the time that they looked good because they are still so comfortable! I finally decided to order these new Skechers since the style looked very close to my old favorites, I ordered the same size and they arrived a few hours ago. They are an absolutely perfect fit and are really comfortable. I am so happy with these shoes that I had to write a review. Thanks Skechers and thanks Amazon! (I tried to purchase these directly from the Skechers Website in the US but they are not set up to handle international orders, much to my disappointment. Skechers are becoming popular in Japan but they do not carry them in larger sizes.)

I've had these shoes for three months and I am really happy with them. They are just my everyday, go to shoes. They are extremely easy to slip on and go. They are light and comfortable and what I figured would be a great summertime shoe. They are all that but here I am wearing these in the dead of winter. Around the house, to the store, out working in the yard or going somewhere to eat. At first I was worried that they might be a little to flimsy but they've held up great.

These are snug yet ventilated, easy to get in and out of, and comfy all day. I am happy to report that they do very well on slippery, icy deck, and even in snow (pre-stomped trails) as well as rainy outdoors, like to go get something from the shed but too lazy to put on boots. I have run for brief distances in them and they are comfortable and secure. I would buy these again, and probably should, as it took years to find a pair of indoor/outdoor slipper shoes. They are holding up very well so far. Two things I do not like, and the reason for 4 rather than 5 stars: 1. The back of the heel sticks out rearward a little more than I think it needs to. This causes a slight issue on some stairs (bringing to light the fact that these stairs are not well laid-out, but still.) When going down the stairs. The sole's toe sticks out a tad more than it needs to as well ... as this offers protection for the toes, it also occasionally causes me to trip up slightly when going up stairs. This reason is very small, but I did notice it. 2. The MAIN reason for not giving 5 stars is that the tread, while very grippy, even on wet, icy, slick deck wood, only has horizontal ribs. A few times my feet tried to go out from under me sideways ... there is no lateral resistance to slipping. Knowing this, and being used to it, I've adjusted, but it's something that could have been easily improved with a wave or herringbone pattern, even if very slight. Being that their outdoor use is very limited, I expect these to last for quite a while.

The title says it all, really - these are supremely comfortable, they slip on without hassle and stay on securely. They're pretty lightweight also, I barely even notice I'm wearing them for the most part. The sole is comfortable and supportive for walking (which I do a fair amount of so this is important to me), not stiff. The thin top layer breathes well and is great for hot climates, I never feel like my feet are overheating despite 90+F temperatures (and I expect the same will be true when the temperatures get hotter). By the same token, they are probably not great for colder climates. I live in a warm place so I can wear them year-round, but someplace with actual winters not so much. I would also maybe avoid wearing them in rainy places, by which I mean they are absolutely fine for walking on a wet surface (it's a thick sole) but the top is probably going to let rain through and you wouldn't want to step in a puddle. I like them so much I bought a second pair shortly after the first just as a future spare :)
