First, I want to start by saying that I am impressed with the quality of this umbrella. We spend a lot of time on our patio and we needed a quality umbrella to protect us from the hot sun. This umbrella comes mostly assembled. You just need to attach the bottom pole to the umbrella and the solar panel to the top of the umbrella. It does not come with a stand but we got one at our local store for fairly cheap. The pole is 1.5" in diameter which fits most umbrella stands. The fabric used is nice feeling and well made. Their are 8 steel ribs and each contains small solar powered lights that you can turn on/off using the power button located on the pole above the crank. Opening and closing the umbrella is easy and the crank has a good feel to it. The crank is located about 45.5" up on the pole. The umbrella also has the ability to tilt to block out the sun.Pros:- Came with an umbrella bag to keep it clean when not in use.- Fabric is quality.- 9ft span is large enough to cover most of our patio.- Tilt mechanism offers more sun protection.- Solar powered lights work great and are a nice feature.- 8 Steel ribs.- Crank is well built and easy to use.Cons:- None.Overall, I am super impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of this patio umbrella!I received a discount in order to test the product. it's perfect in every way except the lights don't work. the minimal instructions are vague. there are 2 positions on the light switch O and - . i've left it in both positions 7 days at a time and nothing affects the lights. the umbrella is waterproof i think so i gave it two stars. but i paid double the money to get the lights. : EDIT i was given immediate authorization to return. when taking it down to box, i knocked the solar cap off--it's a half turn. then i saw a 4 pin plug which i suspected was not plugged in because to the bend in the wires. after plugging it in, it turned on . this should be in the instructions. so i'll give it a 4 star.

Bought this as a birthday present for the girlfriend with the accompanying stand as she's been wanting an umbrella to go with the patio further on the back porch for a while. She's very happy with it. Only disappointment was that I originally wanted blue, but that color was not available at time of purchase, but she's digging the red anyways, so it worked out. Lights are slightly dim, but they appear to be more for decoration anyways.

After much research I decided to buy the Sundale Outdoor Solar Powered 32 LED Lighted Patio Umbrella.I've had it now for about six weeks and during that period we have experienced a number of rainstorms and excessive winds. This umbrella survived them without any damage at all. It looks like it just came out of the box, probably because it has eight metal struts rather than the usual six struts made of wood. This was the main reason I chose Sundale. The quality of the workmanship is outstanding. The solar lights are a nice touch, great for seeing one's food, not so much for reading.Had a little hiccup on delivery but the customer service department handled it with concern, speed, and intelligence. How refreshing to talk with people who truly wish to help and fix! Thank you Sundale Outdoor for a fine product and superb customer service!

Bought this umbrella in the khaki color August 20, 2017 so almost a year ago. It was great while it lasted. Didn't have any problems with the lights and there was no fading as some other reviews had said. Our umbrella was in full sun daily. We don't have any trees in our back yard and we live on a lake. Yesterday the wind broke the umbrella sadly. Two of the arms broke. For the price I paid I can't be too upset. Moral of the story....when not using the umbrella put it down so it doesn't break!

UPDATE to my initial review below. The tilt function broke within 3 months!?! Now it can't stand straight. Is a pain to try to raise & close and if the wind blows flips it to the other side! Great till it broke!***************Really ties the deck together. Got both the 7 & 9 ft size. They aren't super thick, but that is great for moisture and provides plenty of shade. They appear well made. And the tilt is AWESOME! Also love the switch for the light. The pole is sturdy. Just look at them - Gorgeous!

My mom wanted this for her birthday. It came when I was at work, and they got it up before I got back, so it must not have been too hard to put up. It's a very nice looking umbrella, and we've enjoyed it immensely this summer. Even though the lights are LEDs (which I really don't like in general - I think they look so sterile and cold), they are fine for this umbrella and cast a soft light. You wouldn't be able to read by them, but if you are eating outside at night, you'll be able to see the food you're eating. And I like the switch option - just because it's night, you don't have to have the lights on - you can have the lights on, or turn them off. It's also very easy to raise and lower the umbrella with the crank. I think it's a very nice umbrella, and my mom was happy with her present.
