Quality platform pedals for a bargain of a price
I purchased a couple sets of these pedals back in September 2011 and am still using them to this day! Back then, you occasionally were able to find these pedals for under 30 bucks and it's nice to see they haven't risen in cost that much since then. These pedals offer a pretty insane value considering the quality and feature set you're getting. Why I especially was interested in these over other platform pedals (besides their incredible value) is that they allow for mounting toe clips too. Now is when the collective breath of the hardcore mountain biking community scoffs and murmurs under their breath about how lame toe clips are. Ha! In the world of quality platform pedals, believe me, finding ones that have the mounting holes are few and far between!I've been riding on these pedals with toe clips since 2011 and they've held up quite well, even after a handful of trips to downieville! Of course, I'm not always riding that intensely. I'm more of a casual mountain biker / weekend warrior - I mainly ride just to stay fit and have a little fun while doing it. So most of my wear wouldn't be physical hits to rocks (pedal strike) though I've certainly had a few, but rather just shear use over thousands of miles of cycling. What that means is, the seals do a good job of preventing debris from getting in and destroying the bearings though full disclosure, I'm not a fan of riding in the rain and mud. Regardless of those caveats, I'm pretty impressed! Especially considering the price! Most quality platform pedals cost double or triple these Wellgo pedals! If you're interested in mounting toe clips, please know you'll need to swap the spindles of each pedal (very easy to do) to orientate the mounting area correctly - specifically, to put the forward lip of the pedal on the bottom. Also, if you're interested to know how much lighter the pedal can be with titanium spindles, well I have that answer for you:The Wellgo MG-1 Pedals weigh 182 grams and replacing the spindle with Ti ones lowered it to: 153 grams. I was told changing the spindles on these Wellgo pedals to Ti would make the bearings wear out faster. Hogwash. As I've said, I've clocked thousands of miles on my pedals as I got the Ti spindles only a few days after purchasing these pedals. But looking back, I do find it silly that I bought the Ti spindles. The weight reduction is so rediculously minor, I should have just saved my money and put it towards something else on my bike.TL:DR version: Get these pedals - you can't go wrong. Sure there's better but you'll be spending exponentially more for minor gains. These offer nearly the same performance as a set of $100 platform pedals for about a 3rd of the cost.

Cannot beat the performance for the price!
I absolutely love these Wellgo MG-1 pedals! I paid $32 for my set and I couldn't be happier. They are light weight, have sealed bearings, and decent spindles. If your not sure what all that means just know that they will spin easier for much longer than pedals without these features. The pedals themselves are nice and big providing plenty of surface area for your feet to sit on. They are also extremely gripy due to the included pins. I wear flat soled shoes when I ride and I honestly don't think you can get more traction without moving to clip-ins. As of this review I have ridden around 75 miles of extremely technical single track with these pedals. I have hit them on roots, smashed them into rocks, and outside of some scratches I haven't had a single issue. If you are reading this and you are worried about scratches you shouldn't be mountain biking in the first place! Before I purchased these pedals I did a fair amount of searching on Amazon. If you are currently looking for pedals in this price range many of you will be tempted to buy the slightly cheaper aluminium cage style pedals that are available from various manufactures. If you plan on doing any serious riding I highly recommend that you steer clear of these offerings. I can guarantee that they will not hold up for long. Some of my friends have first hand experience with these pedals and all it takes is one good hit on a rock to ruin them. Even if they don't break physically they will start clicking or making noises that are absolutely infuriating. These pedals also don't come with sealed bearings or higher quality spindles. I'm honestly not sure how they became so highly rated but I can only assume it's from non-serious riders that want something better than the crappy plastic pedals their bike came with.Bottom line, these are the best entry level mountain bike pedals for the price. I have recommended these pedals to three friends now and they have all been very happy with their purchases. At $32-40 you will not be disappointed. My only regret is that I went for the silver instead of red!

Fantastic Pedal at a great Price
If you are looking for a set of decent and cheap pedals, look no further. They may be cheap, but they still handle the abuse of the flowy freeride trails or the local dirt jumps. Before I continue, I would be lieing if I said these were the end all be all pedal. They are made of magnesium which makes them light, but a solid rock strike will tear the pegs out of them. I consider them thrash and throw pedals, as in you can thrash on them all season and instead of buying new pins when the rip out, you simply can chuck them because of their price tag which is of course the appeal of these pedals. They are thinner in profile and have a solid feel and contact patch for riders to put their feet. The pedals are lighter, weighin in at 380 grams which makes them a top contender. You could even buy the lighter model which provides a titanium spindle, but at that price point you may as well look into an all around higher performing pedal anyways. With lighter weight and a magnesium body, you tend to find more issues with pedals separating from the spindle or cracking from the abuse, but these have so far served well for me regardless of what others have said. The pins can be replaced but sadly, being a magnesiuim body, the threads will likely be ripped out if you have a pin missing due to abuse. These things, however, grip like a monkey on a tree and will keep you well connected with your bike. As with all flats, falling off and catching your shin is a serious concern and these will not only catch, but proceed to tear the flesh right off of you so please do wear some shin guards if you haven’t quite mastered them or are accident prone.I've owned previously a pair of these, as well as a set of DMR V8's and prefer these over the V8's since these have a sealed bearing and a smaller profile. Cheers and happy buying!

Bon rapport qualité-prix
