A Great Value - Very Sturdy
I recently purchased a new Laguna 14" bandsaw. I decided to use this BORA universal mobility base instead of buying the OEM mobility kit from Laguna (which was over twice the price and had only so-so reviews). Another big plus is that the BORA has 4 wheels (instead of 3 on the OEM mobility kit), making it steady and easy to maneuver. I was very pleased at how sturdy the overall construction was and am very comfortable that this will easily handle my 270 lb. bandsaw. Assembly is straightforward, but the instructions could be improved (there are a lot of pictures, but it was not always clear where to use certain parts like washers). The foot operated wheel lift mechanisms are metal (as opposed to plastic used on some other universal bases) and appear to be very sturdy and the rails were made of very heavy gauge material. The finish on all parts is also very good, and while this is not essential to functionality, it does give you a sense of overall good quality. I plan to purchase a second unit for my table saw and would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone looking for a good quality cost effective mobility base for their power tools.

This is my second one
I have now purchased two of these, one for a table saw one for a band saw. Assembling the first one was really tedious since I had a splint on one hand and opposable thumbs are important (but even with that handicap I did get it assembled). Once it was together, it worked fine and being able to move my table saw around really made my workspace more manageable. So I, purchased a second one. It went together in a fraction of the time (with two hands working) and has proved just as valuable. There are a lot of negative reviews for this product and I just don't get it! Both of mine function flawlessly. The finish quality is good; they roll well and steer well and they are stable when locked down (because they lock by raising the wheels and setting the base down on adjustable rubber feet rather than clamping the caster wheels). My use is not industrial--I don't move these around constantly and I'm not pushing the weight limit but for my home shop they are great. I wish I had done this years ago. Nobody paid me or gave me anything free for this review.

Looks nice but does not work at all
Just assembled this unit and none of the four casters would stay locked down. The unit seems to be well made, painted nicely and so on, but it does not work at all. Searching around woodworking sites I see that this is a frequent issue. So now my nearly 300 pound bandsaw is on a moblie platform that will not move! I have contacted Bora and will update this review with results. Not a happy camper!! Update - heard nothing from Bora so I returned the unit. Note that I purchased this unit “used, like new” which has me thinking that it was returned already due to being defective? Also, do not use any of your Amazon credits on a somewhat risky purchase like this as they don’t give them back to you!!! (I did not know that Amazon did this - in this case double jeopardy for me :(. )

Works well as long as you understand inherent limitations
I own 3 of these bases, one of the PM-2500 models and 2 of the slightly smaller PM-1050’s for smaller machines. The difference is machine size and weight capacity. I just got the PM-2500 and got it assembled today but not in place under the machine yet. I’ve learned from experience that assembling these bases takes some engineering corrections, thought and a base insert. I add extra bolts on the base connecting bars and I add a 3/4 inch piece is plywood inset into the base and bolt it to the base. Why? For stability, weight bearing ability and easy of installing a machine into the base which is open. The plywood allows me to slide a machine into place and it distributes weight around the base evenly and adds strength. I seriously doubt the manufacturer claims of 650 pound weight capacity when the base rails are fully extended. A lot of the one star reviewers have found this fact out the hard way and their reviews are accurate. I plan to to put a 200 pound washing machine on the larger PM-2500 which will be set 28 inches by 28 inches with the additional bolts and the 3/4 inch 28x28 plywood bolted in place. What I like about these bases is their mobility, and the fact that the wheels lower with a foot pedal onto rubber feet to prevent machine vibration. The washer will be a real test. The instructions are sort of lame. Google an instruction video instead. For the right machine, these are good mobile bases. These take some thought and patience to assemble. The explanation for what hardware goes where is also lame. Videos really help. I would NOT put anything over 250 pounds on the larger PM-2500 at max extension even with all my modifications previously mentioned. It just won’t hold the weight despite the manufacturer claims. 4 stars is a reasonable rating when using these bases for the for right machine and assembly with my additions. A lower rating for heavier machines with wider bases. Hope this helps! PS - one note. I have this base with a Speed Queen washer on it on a 3/4 inch thick rubber stall mat used for horses. The washer does not move. On a tile, hardwood or even cement floor, it could move around. If you have a hard floor, look at the Bora 2550 base. All 4 wheels raise and lower onto rubber feet. Good luck!

everything worked perfectly
After reading some negative reviews, I was wary of ordering this base for my planer. But once I received it and assembled it, everything worked perfectly. Apparently, the manufacturer fixed the issue with the rollers locking in the raised position. So I ordered a second base for my band saw. And again an excellent result.

Artículo de muy buena calidad!, recomendado para máquinas pesadas de menos de 350 kg.

The base was assembled in 5 minutes and had enough adjustment to allow for use on any piece of equipment I have. It allows the equipment to be moved easily and locked into place for stationary use.

Mon plancher de garage n'est vraiment pas droit, et cette base déplace mon planeur de 500 lbs sans aucune difficulté. Je vais assurément m'en procurer d'autre pour mes autre machines. Je recommande sans aucun doute

Easy assembly and works well moving 500 lb table saw.

These “Mobile” bases weren’t able to be mobile until I manufactured some bits to help the kick down levers remain in the down position. For those who want a simple, out-of-the-box solution, these are NOT the bases you want to purchase. For the price, I expected them to function as intended, without me having to re-engineer them.
