These are big and weak. But I use them to hold 12 inch buffing wheels together in sets of three. For something like that, they are perfect. I think they would hole two 2 x 4's together as long as they were not supporting them. My problem with them is that they tend to slip off - I would say they "grab" not "clamp" if you know what I mean. They grab the cloth buffing wheels, but if you clamp some wood together, the wood can slip right out. If you need powerful clamps, these are not them. If you need to hold things together without a huge amount of pressure, then these are good.

These are just What I needed to use for keeping the cover on my above ground pool! They are made of metal and seem to be pretty strong clamps. We will see how they work with our winds this winter. Reasonable price and I will be ordering more so I can use them for the perimeter of the pool!

I ordered these to save money. The ones I bought at the Depot were $1.00 more each and are much better quality. These aren’t bad mind you, just nowhere near as nice or strong clamping.

Not a strong as I would have likedI needed them to hold down a tarp but they’re not good for that if there’s any kind of wind at all so they could be used for something easy to hold down

Like everything else, as time passes products are made cheaper, weaker and less durable. The older version of these clamps was much STRONGER - these are comparatively weaker. The plastic on the tips are paper thin.

Super large clamps. Finally a clamp that can be operated with one hand, large enough to hold two 2x4 together.Clamping force is moderate, about 15 pounds. Maximum inner width on mine measures approximately 3 7/8 inch.

We are using these to help hold our above ground pool cover in place. They're big, which is helpful, but they are very weak compared to some others I have of the same size. They'll do the job as far as actually holding it in place, but we'll have to use others to supplement.

Other brands have much stronger springs. These are pretty week. Very easy to use, too easy
