30 Minute Artist: Painting Water in Watercolour Paperback – May 1, 2013

I’ve learned so much from this book! It was a great find. I would recommend this book. I love the explanations on the steps.

Easy to follow instructions and what to use, however, it would help to have more detailed info about the brushes cue uses

The Terry Harrison books are great! He is such a good teacher with step by step instructions. I started watercolor painting a year and a half ago with no back ground in art or painting. I started by buying a book with templets. I followed the lessons he laid out in the book. This May I had the opportunity to take a five day workshop from him. He was great! I painted excellent pictures and had them professionally frame. People go WOW when they see them. So I have purchased more of his books. I have painted an old barn from a picture of my son-in-law's grand father and used information from Terry's book as a guide. I have used tips from Terry when I do most of my painting including painting an ocean and harbor scene. His books have been my main instructor!

By working through each lesson, you learn to be confident in your own ability. I am glad I took a chance.

I liked the contents but the print font is so small that it renders the book difficult to use.

Painting Water in Watercolour by Terry Harrison recently arrived. I was surprised at how small the book is and with its binding it is hard to keep open to the selected page. I think the contents reflect the title of 30 Minute Artist and I plan to use it to improve speed in sketching moving water. I have not had a chance to use it yet, but it seems detailed enough for a beginning watercolorist, like myself. I like that he has a good photo of each finished project for beginners to copy and learn from. There are several projects of waves on sandy beaches, which is one thing I wanted to get fast at. His style is a bit harsh and primitive, which may be necessary to catch the scene rapidly.If you are looking for an in depth and beautiful book of painting the sea and all of its moods, detailed instructions, clear colors and a great style try E. John Robinson's Paint the Sea and Shoreline in Watercolors Using Special Effects. He has spent decades painting and living near the sea in California and has painted in other shores around the world.
