Really great potato ricer
Really great potato ricer. In the part where you put the food you want to rice, a cylindrical tube comes out so that you can place whatever screen you want to use in the bottom and then insert the tube so that it can hold the screen in place. Then, like all ricers (I think), some leftover potato or whatever you are ricing gets built up on top of the masher piece. It can just be flicked down into the basket though. I used this last night (chicken gnocchi soup here I come!) and I found it was pretty easy to use. the only issue I had was with that tube I mentioned- sometimes when I would reopen the masher to place in another potato, that tube had slid up and the screen went all wonky. It was very difficult to use and without good results. Then I noticed that it had slid up so I just corrected it each time and had no problems further. I am also not a very strong person but this tool made ricing very easy. As I was rolling out gnocchi I still did notice some lumps of potatoes but I am not sure if this is because the ricer didn't completely rice the potato or if some un- riced potato fell in. SUPER easy to clean as all parts come out. Very nice quality tool and I would purchase again!

More than just potatoes!
I bought this to use for serving fresh or frozen spinach! I've always hated the time is took to try to get all the water out of the spinach so it didn't make puddles on your plate. This unit is a bit unwieldy to get used to, but it does work great with the smaller grated plate. It's much larger than I expected, and there is a center cup that comes out as well. Very well made, seems to be fine in the dishwasher. One thing I discovered when "smashing" my spinach, is that is will come back out of the cup compacted into a formed shape like half of an english muffin. I think it would be so tasty to add to a breakfast muffin or other foods. I'm still experimenting!

Great creamy "mashed" potatoes in a jiff.
Received my ricer the other day and finally tried it. Worked great. Seems to be of good quality and I like the silicone grips.Spur of the moment the other day we decided on mashed potatoes for dinner (just two of us). So needed quick and easy. Cut a few russets in half, did not peel them, and microwave cooked them til tender. Put medium disk in ricer, inserted the inner sleeve and then added two potato halves. Put ricer across mixing bowl but couldn't push much through - not sure if it was due to the skins or the potato or.. was just too hard to press. Easily changed to large disk (just pulled back the plunger, pushed up on the medium disk from the bottom to remove the inner sleeve and potatoes along with the disk, slid off the medium disk and on the large disk and replaced insert) and then proceeded to rice the potatoes. Removed the skin that remained in the ricer bowl after the first press, added remaining potatoes and continued with remaining. Stirred in warm milk & butter and was quite pleased with the results. Came out great. Put all the parts in the dishwasher and everything came out clean and ready for next time.Note - some reviewers complained about the disks coming out when pulling out the plunger - this did not happen for me as mine came with an insert to keep disks in place when removing plunger; perhaps this is a recent change? Also I did not have a problem with large amounts of potato squeezing around the plunger as noted by some - a small amount did squeeze by and I suspect that had I muscled through using the medium disk there may have been more... Giving the product only 4 stars primarily because it came with no instructions/information so I'm just starting to experiment on my own. I've not used a ricer before - will be interesting to see what can be done with other veggies and/or soft pasta (spatzle). A few days after receiving the ricer I did get an email from the supplier with basic instructions on making mashed/riced potatoes but would have been helpful to find these in the package and to have more info/suggestions on best use(s) for each of the supplied disks.

Almost Effortless Fluffy Mashed Potatoes
This was my first ricer, and I am very pleased. I rarely had "lumpy" potatoes, but I've seen ricers used on tv and thought it might be easy. Not only is it very easy, these are the fluffiest potatoes I've every made! This ricer will take about one large potato at a time. You put the potato in, squeeze the handles together and get super smooth potatoes. I usually make about 5 lbs of potatoes at a time, and it really doesn't take any longer than using an old fashioned masher. Cleanup is easy, pull out the disk (of which there are 3 to choose from) and the sleeve, and it takes just a minute or two to wash. I believe it is also top dishwasher safe.Although we grew up with a masher (or an electric mixer for large batches of potatoes), I will never go back! If they ever make a larger size, I'll buy it in a minute!

This is quality. Best ricer I’ve used!
This is a top-notch kitchen gadget! I love that it is easy to operate, that it works smoothly and so well, and that it’s easy to put together take apart and clean. I love that it is stainless steel (dishwasher safe and won’t RUST), that it has a support so that it can be propped on top of a bowl, and that the handles have a bit of padding. I haven’t used all 3 ricing options yet, but I like that they are there. It’s great for ricing bananas, too, for banana bread or banana pancakes! Thank you to the company for manufacturing this item!
