A tuck, a lift, some lipo – they’re elective surgeries. And during a tough economy, the beautiful people elect not to have them. McNamara/Troy turns to a babe-magnet surgeon to help boost biz. Elsewhere in the Nip/Tuck orbit: Matt sets out to earn coin at the beach as a mime (the turn his new career takes may leave you speechless). Kimber laments the decline of her line of sex toys. And that Christian-Liz marriage? Sooo over. So don’t expect the docs to reject any opportunities, no matter how dicey. Create a lifelike mask for a cross-dresser to wear when he’s on the town in drag with his wife? Can do. Help two realtors look more like Barbie and Ken dolls? Sure. Accept the state’s request to lipo a morbidly obese Death Row inmate so he can be executed? The docs will have to think about that one.DVD Features:Deleted ScenesFeaturetteGag Reel

Bittersweet End to a Brilliant Series
After reading some of the reviews here, I actually expected some drop off in the quality of this show. There actually is none, and six was actually one of the most intense seasons of the set. It begins with the brilliant Rose McGowan joining the cast, briefly anyway, then a series of the typically grim surgeries Christian and Sean are involved in (the plot of a former model tired of being beautiful is particularly interesting), as well as many others that I will not reveal so as to not divulge any spoilers. Some of the darkest of the plastic surgery cases were saved for this season. There is one episode where the series meanders after Kelly Clarkson is written out of it, but it picks up steam once again once Famke Jansen returns to it from season two. It would have been nice to see two more plot threads resolved from prior seasons, the daughter of Julia's lover once shot her - that is never resolved, also what happened to the Carver, still stalking his victims in Spain..? Both Julia and Liz come off as a little selfish in the last season, but then, women have never been portrayed in a very flattering way on Nip/Tuck. Matt, of course, reveals himself as the same old self-centered loser he has always been, but Christian, realizing that he is bad for everyone, tries to do what is best, for Sean anyway. All things considered, though, this is a very satisfying end to Nip/Tuck which, at its best, was like a car accident: dark and graphic, but you still can't turn away from it.

The was a Christmas present for my best friend. As fans of the show I was glad to gift him this season to finish his collection. Package arrived prompt and in good condition. This season out of them all however was not so good, it felt rushed and not a lot of thought was put into it. The show itself was excellent but to end its run this was a let down. But to complete the collection of the show it was a good buy.

One of the best show of the 2000s!
Nip/Tuck is one of the best shows I have ever watched. I was hooked right when I watched the first episode. I found this show very sexy, dark, and interesting, never a dull moment when watching. I never got into a show as much as I did Nip/Tuck!

Really go to watch this season!
I love this series. I purchased it on Amazon ( all 7 seasons) and because I paid so much to buy it and enjoyed it so much am now watching it for the second time. This series is dynamic, it is part soft porn, part family drama, part over dramatized plastic surgery procedures. I have to say it is the characters you fall in love with. Christian and Sean don't disappoint in this season, and it just gets juicier and their friendship more co-dependent. Julia is the one that I love to hate, her lack of self and direction really, really come to light in this season. . . I mean REALLY come to light.she drives me crazy because she is so wishy washy, and weak...yet blames Sean for everything wrong in her life. It is worth the $20 to buy the season. Enjoy - I always do .

Let me tell you what I don't like about this season
But first, I'll tell you what was good about it. It won't take as long.I'm actually grateful that this was the final season. Too many shows linger far past the point where they've "jumped the shark." Invariably, a good television show lasts because the audience comes to identify with the characters and the various players almost become friends of the viewing family. Nip/Tuck was no exception. Even though some of the characters made absurd decisions and exhibited despicable behavior through the years, the writers managed to make the viewers care about what these people were going to do next. Like other reviewers, I'm going to miss the denizens of the Nip/Tuck universe.HOWEVER...I'm very grateful this was the last season. Within the first couple of episodes it becomes pretty apparent that some of the actors are tired of the characters they play. Worse than that, it is VERY clear that the writers had run out of ideas. There are fewer ongoing story threads in this season, the main characters are more predictable than ever, and there really aren't any "innovative" or unique surgeries. The "patient of the week" more often than not is there for common or mundane procedures that we've seen repeatedly in past seasons. The writing has also gotten very sloppy. There are some massive plot holes and even though the show has always been a bit over the top, the writing has always been top-notch up until this final season. I'm going to give an example or two of what I'm talking about in the next paragraph. It's a fairly big spoiler so if you have not seen this season yet skip the next paragraph unless you want to know about fairly major moments involving some of the main characters:SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT DO NOT READ THIS PARAGRAPH IF YOU DON"T WANT TO KNOW!Kimber steps off a boat in broad daylight and is gone and presumed dead from that point forward. When Christian gets the news he tells Shaun that she's already been missing for over 12 hours. She had been with Christian the night before and then had gone to Shaun's afterward. She then hooks up with Mario Lopez on his yacht the next day. Christian also tells Shaun that she's been missing since "last night." There is no possible way to fit that all together so that it makes any sense. Also, Matt is released from prison because Shaun and Christian do a favor for the District Attorney's Office. This is very shortly after Matt murders another inmate in the cell with him. Even though he has reasons for doing it, there is no way on earth he wouldn't face any consequences for killing a fellow prisoner that had connections throughout the prison. The inmate even had deals going involving the guards. These are just a couple of examples, but there are literally dozens to choose from.END OF SPOILERS END OF SPOILERSThe final episode of the series ends with a whimper instead of a bang. Another reviewer already stated that regular viewers may be unhappy with some of the ways they wrap up the lives of some of the characters and I have to agree. Someone also mentioned the "couples therapy" episode as one of the best and I agree there as well. I love this series and I don't regret having purchased it. A weak season of Nip/Tuck is still better than most of the shows out there. But the characters deserved better than they got in the last season and the writers could have found any number of better ways to finish things up than they did. Instead they got lazy and it shows.

Time to go now
I think that the writers were struggling to come up with new ways to shock us, but just kept turning these characters into worse and worse examples of humanity. I pretty much didn't like any of the characters any more by the time this season was about halfway done. Rose McGowan's short appearance was interesting, but short and overly dramatized storyline again. I was glad when it was done that Christian would get to keep being his selfish, overindulgent self, and that Sean would get to go all idealistic like he tried for 6 seasons, but glad that I won't feel the morbid curiosity to watch either one of them in their endeavors again.

A nice recovery after the rather disastrous season 5
The show ended well I think, the only real problem is the choice to split the season into two halves. It makes it very confusing when there's suddenly a big time jump in the middle of the season (it would especially have been nice to have seen Christian and Kimber's wedding after all the build-up to them getting back together!) It didn't even make sense when it was airing as there was no real gap between the two halves of the season, yet they were still treated as seperate seasons for some reason. The DVD bringing them both together as one complete season is definitely the right decision, but it does make things a bit confusing and means the first half drags down the final batch of episodes from an otherwise 5-star ratingHowever the second half of the season is a huge jump in quality as it really focuses on wrapping up plot threads, as well as on the main characters Sean and Christian and their friendship. The episode where Christian and Sean go to therapy to save their partnership is easily one of the best, if not the best, episodes the show has ever done. The episode with flashbacks to Christian, Julia, and Sean at college is also fun, with younger Christian in particular being perfectly cast. And the ending is a real love it or hate it episode, but personally I thought it worked very well and the final scene with Christian always brings a smile to my face at how it brings everything full circleThe show DID drop in quality over the years and there's no denying that, but I think the final run of episodes and their focus on Sean and Christian's friendship (always where the show was at its best), end the series as well as anyone could have hoped for

TIME TO GO
19 episodes. Sadly the once acclaimed show again proves it has run out of steam - to the very end relying on creaking contrivances and inadequate character development. In fact Christian does not seem to have changed at all. Flashbacks to his student days portray him even then as a love rat and shameless exploiter of Sean. Sean himself has far more scope but it is rarely explored, script writers preferring to make him unconvincingly a magnet for psychopaths. Both, without qualms, have made fortunes from vanity surgery.Everything is put in perspective by the boxed set's one bonus feature - a devastating condemnation of such practices. In it we are told the show's patients are mainly "loons", the operations doing them no service. Appearances may be altered, the person rarely. "If you wish to transform your life, look anywhere but outward".Rather than take such messages on board, give the partners more of a conscience, make everything more meaningful, the show opted for gloss, fun and sex. It seemed more motivated by cynicism than by heart.Only occasionally does the final season soar. Episode 4 shows it at its most hilarious and outrageous - the climax totally absurd but immensely satisfying. Episode 16 boasts a strong script, Christian and Sean undergoing long overdue therapy. Episode 11 especially impresses. On Death Row a grossly overweight prisoner needs much fat removed to avoid complications when lethally injected. Moral issues are explored and there is a genuinely disturbing twist. When it began the series stunned, a "must see", extending the boundaries. Successive seasons have yielded diminishing returns. It was wise to call a halt. What lay ahead for creator Ryan Murphy? The answer surprises. None other than "Glee".

It's a wrap
I was anticipating great things from the final season of one of my favourite programmes.... but I was left a little disappointed, and a little confused....I won't spoil the ending, but I wonder if it really is an ending... and part 1 and part 2 of the season were far from a seamless merge in the middle of the DVD box set... Our boys get even more perculiar cases as the DVD goes by... more and more twisted.... watch out for the woman who bashes people with her more than ample bosoms.... I'm glad I bought it but it doesn't even come close to those wonderful first episodes!

Addictive show, so sad that it finished.
Arrived in great time & in great condition - I love this show so I'm going to give 5*.I'm guessing if you are reading the reviews for season 6, you have probably watched the other 5 seasons & know how good it is, so you'll obviously be buying season 6!! If you haven't seen the other seasons, go and find season one & buy it! It's awesome - but very addictive!
