They're cotton swabs.
These were a little shorter than I imagined and a little less cotton than other cotton swabs I've used like this in the past, so I was a little disappointed in that respect. Overall, they do the job, just be careful because, since they are wooden, it's easy to poke a little too hard because they don't flex or bend.

These are great, but be aware they they are tightly spun so if you desire super soft loose cotton swabs these are not for you. I love them.

Cotton Swabs
I became a fan of spiral cotton swabs while on vacation in the Philippines. The tips don’t fray like regular swabs. The wood makes it more durable. Though I would caution you to use care when using because of that. Don’t stick in ear canal.

Perfect for cleaning ears
I love the swirl tips they get more ear wax out and leave ears cleaner than normal q tips and they have a ample enough cotton on the tips. Happy with this purchase.
