07-28-2020 Update: Govee customer support responded and indeed the product was still under the 1 year warranty. They asked for pictures of the issues anda fgew hours later sent an email confirming a replacement was being shipped to me. I received the replacement today and installed it a few moments ago and everything is working perfectly. Colors and brightness are the same good quality as the first one I purchased. Definitely recommend the product since they also have good customer service.These LED light strips are good for the price. They are super bright and have different color options (you can even create custom colors). It was easy to install to the back of my Ikea desk and stuck very well to it. I would give them 5 stars if it weren't for the durability of these LED strips. After approximately 10 month (not using them every day) some lights don't produce the correct color or simply don't light up with certain color options. I have tried disconnecting them, changed colors on the remote control and turning them on and off but the issue still persists. Please see attached photos for reference. I have contacted them by email to see if Govee replaces them since they are still under the 1 year warranty period. I will update this review if I receive a response from them.

So this is the second Govee LED strip set I have purchased in the last 18 months. The first one was the same as this but had the smart functionality. I recently changed my desk set up so I wanted another strip for ambient back lighting on the wall. Since I rarely used the smart functions of the other strip, I went with the basic one. I mounted the controller within arms reach under my desk so I can quickly and easily adjust brightness, color, and power on/off.I am very content with Govee's products, and I believe this LED strip is the 5th or 6th Govee purchase I have made. I do not regret a single one of them. These strips have acceptable LED density (pretty average if not whats pretty much seeming to be the industry standard for consumer RGB strips) and great color production. I will likely be buying another set to add some more ambient lighting behind my bed headboard since these are pretty affordable.A few years ago I had bought some much cheaper RGB strips from not-so-well-known companies, and they didnt have a silicone waterproof coating (which is unnecessary indoors, but, in my opinion it helps with the diffusion and spread of the lighting and feels of better quality vs non sealed strips), they had very cheap crappy on board controllers, horrible IR remotes, were a pain to mount, had much too strong adhesive so when removed tore paint off the walls, and lastly the color was not as accurate or pleasing to the eyes as Govee products seem to be.For the money, I would say quality both in lighting and construction are not going to be beat, and the lighting accuracy is on point. While you cant change individual LEDs on the strip or enjoy any motion effects such as the smart strips, these do a great great job adding some mood for an affordable price.8.5/10 would definitely recommend!

I bought two and the color is phenomenal. I put the first one on my gamer room wall with ease, the silicon held, I put it up with no issues whatsoever and it looks fantastic!The second one, however, did not go up so easily. As I was hanging it up, I noticed it wasn’t sticking whatsoever. Come to find out, the silicone had come off with the paper and it was a nightmare to put back on and rehang it. Even with being as gentle as possible and having it lined up decently perfect with the strip, it kept hanging down. My boyfriend thankfully had some silicone to put on the back it and it hung up fine afterwards. Plug it to admire the handiwork, and a quarter of it doesn’t even light up. All the hard wrk and frustration for nothing. I’m giving it a 3 star because the quality is there, it’s bright and beautiful, but it doesn’t seem like it’s ALL the same quality. I got one good one and a bad one.**UPDATE**They reached out to me and replaced the damaged one, completely free of charge. The whole strip worked with no issues whatsoever, and the Customer Service team was absolutely hands down, the friendliest team I have ever had to deal with, with product issues/concerns!
