Solar Butterfly, Dual (Solar / Battery) Power Fluttering Butterfly By Random, Solar or Battery Powered

I had a set of battery/solar Butterflies that I purchased elsewhere quite a few years ago. I broke one last year and this year the other one died so I was excited to see these when I searched online for them. So disappointed. Put them together and stuck them in my outdoor flower boxes on the solar setting. They both quit working within a half-hour and yes the sun was shining brightly on them. Now to make them work I have to use the battery setting which makes them fly in circles like jet propelled Butterflies! Not going to return them....more trouble than it's worth. At least we get a good laugh out of them!

The butterfly does jiggle a bit like a sort of fluttering motion and spins in a circle. People will not be fooled thinking there's a butterfly in your garden but it is a unique and neat addition that doesn't take up much space. The sunlight does need to hit the panels well, though, or it will not work at all such as if you stick it in some plants and the leaves grow over the panels - it will not get the sunlight hitting the panels so the butterfly will not move. I have had mine for a month now with the same battery and nearly every day it has been sunny (it is on the south side of my house where no shade ever hits it) with the same single AAA battery and it doesn't seem like it is going to quit any time soon so the battery life seems to last a while.

They do work in direct sun.They are just alittle flimsy.

I had one of these similar devices 25 years ago and it worked great. I tried to find a similar product that would work when properly set up it swirled just right and created a realistic looking butterfly. These are definately not them I wasted 2 purchases on this crap which quickly flew realistically into the trash can!!Save your time and money total junk!!

I bought several of these and they work well if in direct sunlight. If the sun is not directly on the solar panel, it does not work. I have to reposition it during the day to keep it going. One of the wires snapped for no known reason and I hot glue fixed it satisfactorily. They are cute and add a nice touch to our garden.

You have to love these butterflies. Either with batteries or solar power, they look great in the flower garden and tend to keep the squirrels at bay.They come in an assortment of colors and last all summer and into the next as we have found here in the Pacific NW.

Beautiful items and looks great even fairly close up but it lasted just a couple of weeks before it simply stopped working. Also, ordered the two butterfly model and only one butterfly arrived. Probably won't purchase again until it looks like some quality improvement has taken place.
