Great for the weekend warrior!
First- let's get the moral issue out of the way. Yes, it is an illegal golf ball, so the radical improvement in my scores in the first 2 games I have used this ball I guess don't really count. That being said, the probability of me getting my tour card and T-ing off against Tiger is still extremely remote and I (like most amateur players) have taken many liberties with mulligans, foot wedges, and moving the ball out of a hazard. What is more likely to happen when I play is to tighten up on a narrow fairway and drop kick the tee shot, or when there are houses close on the right my power slice unexpectedly re-emerges. When I played with this ball that all went away. I mean gone. 28 straight shots with the driver and 12 straight shots with fairway woods(across 2 games). Not "that wasn't too bad, only a little fade" - straight like a bullet. Like some others that have reviewed I did notice the ball liked to force itself down or "drop" off the tee shot and I lost a lot of distance for the first few shots. This was mostly corrected when I tee'd up the ball considerably higher then I normally would. Overall I was still about 15 to 20 yards short on drives even with the height correction. A favorable exchange for the gain in accuracy in my opinion. Fairway woods had no noticable differance in distance. Aiming the ball is key. It will go straight in the direction you hit it everytime (barring the shot off the heal that was saved by my mulligan). In summary, if you have a tendancy to slice and loose balls and understand that much like mulligans and foot wedges your game is based on loosely following the rules- then get these balls and enjoy YOUR game a lot more. If you are practicing heavily and are improving as a player or already have a low handicap then avoid these balls so us cheaters have a chance of beating you.

Didn’t work for me!
They do fly straight, however I lost a lot of distance. I use a Taylormade 12 degree high launch driver with a senior shaft. Every drive I hit today was noticeably high top spin. You have to line the ball using the arrow on the ball before each shot for this to work. You could see the ball heading up and taking a sharp dive down. It got good “roll out” because of the top spin but the launch angle shallowed so much that the carry distance was significantly reduced. I even tried chapstick on the driver face to reduce spin...still didn’t help. It didn’t work for me. I can’t recommend these balls.

YES they work!!
Let me cut to the chase--these balls perform exactly as advertised and make it almost (key word here is ALMOST!) impossible to hit one into the woods. However, there are a couple of significant caveats.First, it is absolutely critical to line the arrow on the ball up with the direction you want the ball to go. If you are off even slightly, that error can be magnified 100x or so when you hit the ball. The first thing I learned with these balls is that I have to be more careful with my aim off the tee. The first one I teed up went straight into the woods. Straight, as in like a bullet, right where I aimed it. So, they will go where you aim, just be sure your aim is on!Second, they only work if you make solid contact with the ball. In other words, they do nothing for you if you duff the ball off the tee or pop it up, for example. So in that respect, they may not be very helpful for true beginners. You need to consistently make solid contact off the tee to get maximum benefit from these balls. That being said, I must also say that, unlike some of the reviewers, I did not notice any significant distance loss using these balls. However, I am a fairly long hitter, with my drives averaging around 265 yards using my usual Top Flite XL. With the Polara Ultimate Straight, I was still pretty close to that. If I lost any distance, it was not more than 2-3 yards. This is insignificant compared to the benefit of having the ball stay in play on every drive!I can't really address how well these work for second and subsequent shots. I hit the ball fairly straight most of the time anyway, with the maddening exception of my driver, which I've had serious problems with for years now. These balls fixed that problem immediately. As the Polara instructions say, in order for these balls to work after your drive, you have to pick the ball up and aim the arrow again. I did that a few times, and the shot went just as straight as it did off the tee, but that is what usually happens for me anyway. But needless to say, I HIGHLY recommend these balls to straighten out your tee shots. I think you will be very pleased even if, like me, that is your only major problem.

Hard to find item because they Work!
Absolutely the best golf ball for removing your slice and hooks. I can not believe the difference in my game. The only difference is they don't go as far as a regular golf ball. I normally hit 225-250 drives. With these balls 175-200. The XD will add about 25 additional yards. Narrow fairways used to intimidate me but, now no problem at all. Line up your ball in the direction that you want to hit and it will go that direction. This is not a gimic, these balls will improve your game!
