Yu Yu Hakusho: The Complete First Season [Blu-ray]

This steelbook series is amazing! So glad to have it!

The reason i gave it a four instead of a five is because of a minor complaint that i have that's no big deal to me but might be a big deal to others and here's my tiny little complaint.The discs themselves are numbered wrong like disc 1 should be episode 1-10 but instead the disc says 1-8, disc 2 should be 11-20 but instead the disc says 9-14 and disc 3 should be 21-28 but the disc says 15-22 but like i say it might be a big deal to some but not me

Animations are exactly the same and voices too! I was hoping it wasn’t a remake with updated voice acting and animation and it wasn’t! Exactly as the original just clear resolution🔥🔥

Only reason to get this over the standard Blu-ray is that it's a steelbook.

For the Steelbook Blu-Ray:Funimation does it again, guys. The disc info is incorrect and these are the exact same discs as the old release. Disc 1 says episodes 1-8 but has 1-10 on it, uses the old Funimation "you should be watching" logo and includes the DBZ Kai Part Five advertisement from years ago. Same discs and each has the wrong episode listings.Disc 1 says 1-8 but is 1-10Disc 2 says 9-14 but is 11-20Disc 3 says 15-22 but is 21-28Disc 4 is special features, 23-28 not listed at all.Looking Back at a Legacy is just a 17 minute special feature with just the people involved with the English production talking, no footage from the show.My review: If you already have the previous discs, this is not worth upgrading for (unless you REALLY like SteelBooks). If you don't, they just go ahead and get the cheaper 4 pack of all the episodes. No real reason to get this. (I'll get them all Steelbook because I got this one, but that's the only reason).

The steel book which is the selling point of this release came unable to close. My hinges don't seem damaged and it appears to be a problem with the design of the steel book. The discs have the episode counts mislabeled as of it's the dvd version as there are 10 episodes on disc one however it says episodes 1-9 on the disc. The art cards are nice however there are only two. One being the cover art and the other being the back of the steel book art. I was hoping for some kind of promotional art that the series had.The actual quality of the episodes are excellent as it's the remastered blu ray release prior. This is a true remaster, done in 4:3 and colors are restored to their original look. Just look at the opening on youtube to see how great the show looks. I think you're better off going with the original release as it's cheaper and you don't have to wait for them to finish, also you won't be stuck with cases that won't close and mislabeled discs.

I have purchased the entire series at this point and having the entire set in these beautiful steel cases on my self makes me so happy. The big draw to this version is the steel case obviously, with that said I do have some issues with the actual video quality of the blue rays. I owned the original dvd set back in 2010 that these are based off of and I am sad to say that the video quality hasn’t really been upgraded since then.

One of the best anime in existence, this steelbook is among the best in my collection. The art cards are a really nice touch and the packaging overall is nicely done. Item arrived timely. 5 stars

I am new to Yu Yu but i liked what atudio Perriot(?) has done with other shows. Steelbook came perfect condition. I don't like the little slip cover deal it has but that is entirely on Funimation. Other than that, if you want the series, and like Steelbooks, this is the way to go.Season 1, 2, 3 are already out in Steelbook. While Season 4 releases March 3rd 2020.

This is my all time favourite anime series. If you have seen DBZ, Naruto , Bleach or Hunter x Hunter (Same creator) you will love this series!
