Good thing I purchased square trade warranty hopefully I can ...
Purchased from Amazon in Nov 2016 and it stopped draining water in February. We used in finished basement to keep humidity low. It also now leaks water. The humidity and temperature levels are also incorrect I have verified against 3 other humidity and temperature control monitors. Good thing I purchased square trade warranty hopefully I can get a refund.Update: April 4, 2017. Received replacement unit from Honeywell. Customer service was very good almost painless to receive a replacement. That's the good news. The bad news, as of 9/25/2017 (5 months after receiving replacement unit) the new one has stopped draining through the hose as well and it is making a strange noise. I've contacted them again. It's too bad because it does suck a lot of moisture from the air and very quickly. Hopefully this can be remedied somehow.

very good at removing moisture
This machine is worth every penny we spent on it. We live in the south and this has been an unbelievably humid summer. The house was insulated last year and because it is so tight it no longer had the ability to "breathe". This coupled with the use of a central air unit created a serious issue that we thought was going to be quite expensive to correct. Wrong!! This product removed almost ten gallons of moisture a day for almost a month of constant use until the house was completely back to where it should be. The plus sides are that this machine is very, very good at removing moisture, the empty bucket is sturdy and easy to handle, the settings and readouts are accurate. The complaints about the noise and the heat generated are generally from people who either have not used a dehumidifier or not one of this size. It does generate a bit of heat... It is supposed to!! the general temp of the room it is located in rose about 4 degrees, but that is to be expected. The noise is noticeable at first, however once it is running for awhile it becomes nothing more than "background" that is not really noticeable. All in all this product is very efficient, and well worth the price.

Not built to last
Worked great removing the moisture from my basement, but after only one season it failed. The compressor runs but it freezes up after a day or so and refuses to remove any moisture from the air. So 14 months later I am buying yet another dehumidifier. I have purchased all major brands of dehumidifier in the past few years, but I've only been able to get a year or two worth of use out of them. They don't make them like they used to. My first dehumidifier lasted over 15 years. I had high hopes for one with the Honeywell name on it, but it failed the quickest of the bunch.

Durable Workhorse but be prepared for noise and lots of basin emptying!
We purchased this dehumidifier this past spring for the finished basement of our new home. This unit has run all summer long and has worked as advertised in reducing the humidity to a comfortable 45%. Two things to know about this unit before purchasing: 1.) It is noisier than I imagined it would be. The combination of the fan and compressor running does make for a noise level that might be distracting for some. 2.) The collection basin fills up quickly! This will obviously depend on the circumstances in your space, but our basin filled up almost daily. If it's practical for your situation I would recommend using the drainage hose option.

Very highly disappointed in this product.
I purchased this item July 8; 2017 and it was delivered July 12; 2017. I was very excited. It has worked beautifully with no problem. This morning, my guests in my basement informed me that there was water on the floor. Immediately, we went down and noticed a large amount of water on the floor— what a disappointment. This product is leaking badly. My guests and my husband and I grabbed towels to get up the water. It took about 8 large towels to soak up the water. Today is November 25, 2017–2 Days after Thanksgiving with guests in my home and this happens. I’m very disappointed and will seek a refund or replacement.

Lasted Less than a year: Updated
Like others have said I have trouble getting more than a years worth out of any 70 pint dehumidifier and was hoping buying this one with the honeywell name would be one that lasts longer. This one lasted about 9 months and no longer pulls humidity out of the air. I have an old GE at work that is still running strong after 6 years in horrid conditions, but unfortunately it is no longer made. W'ell now see how Honeywell honors there warranty.Update: Honeywell's customer service was responsive and excellent. A few emails explaining the issue and they had a new dehumidifier sent to me in less than a week. Hope this one lasts...

An excellent buy!
Excellent buy as far as I am concerned. I use it in my 20x40 metal garage which had gotten humid enough to cause serious white mold to cover everything I had out there (just moved here so....). This little machine draws the moisture out of the air at an incredible pace, and I was emptying the gallon or so bucket 4-5 times daily, initially. Since then, I bought a hose and hooked it to continuous drainage, and this is where my confusion sets in and I have yet to research the problem. However, I assumed with the hose hooked to continuous drainage that I would no longer need to empty the bucket, yet I continue to have to empty it about every 12 hours. I see water trickle from the hose (and yes the plug was removed from the machine and the hose tightly secure) yet the bucket also continues to fill. The humidity has gone from 99% down to a nice 41% however, so I'm a pretty happy camper and so are the belongings I managed to salvage.

Like another brand, it lasted just over 2 years
Bought this Honeywell dehumidifier to replace a prior brand that died on us after just two years, and this one lasted from June 26, 2016 till today, August 29, 2018. The coils are freezing up, even after I cleaned the filter, which means that the refrigerant system has a leak in it. Not worth trying to repair it or paying to have it repaired. So, time to buy another dehumidifier and to try out yet another brand in the hope that it will last longer than 2 years. When it ran, it did a great job of reducing the humidity level in our 4,200 sf house. Slightly noisy, but we had it in the basement where it would annoy us a little less.
