Restore the Memories
The media could not be loaded. If you're older than 30, you probably know what I'm talking about... You have a box that's just filled with photos that you, or your parents, took when you were younger. You know, before everything went digital. Sometimes the photos survived, but most of the time they were in an album that sat out too long and started to fade. How do you recover those memories?I recently found a box full of pristine negatives from a trip I took to Russia when I was in high school. I didn't have many of the original photos, but the negatives were in great shape. That's where this product comes into play. One afternoon and a trip down memory lane later, and I have a nice digital collection of pictures from my trip, some I hadn't seen or thought about for years. Nostalga alone is worth the price! Now for the technical details. The scanner was well packaged and comes with everything you need to get going, except a memory card. It takes standard SD cards, which I had tons lying around, so that wasn't an issue. It comes with a USB cable and can be powered via a computer or by using the included power plug. It has gloves to protect your negatives and various adapters to fit slides, 35mm and other film sizes. I used this with 35mm film.Loading the film was easy and you have some basic options to improve the quality of the scan and the color. I think I'd likely use a photo editor on my computer to enhance some, but it's nice to be able to brighten up some of the darker pictures.Scanning is a breeze and then you can just connect the USB to your computer and download the files. In my images, you can see a picture I took from the Red Square and the final image is the scan uploaded from my computer. It looks great for a 30 year old negative!I highly recommend this scanner if you have a bunch of negatives lying around that you'd like to share digitally. It works great, is easy to use and really brings out a lot of fantastic memories.

Easy way to digitize old, PRICELESS memories. Does not require a computer
How many of you still have 35mm films around? My parents do! How about 4"x6" and 5"x7" prints? Of course, we do!Digitizing them took a VERY long time: I'd have to take the prints, tape them to 8"x10" sheets, scan them at work, send the resulting PDF home, and edit/crop them out with Photoshop. Scanning films was impossible as I did not have equipment for it, and I started looking for a digitizer that could scan both films and prints.Bought this Qpix one on sale for $110.PROS- Scans multiple film negatives- Scans slides, business cards, and 3x5, 4x6, and 5x7 prints- Easy to use- Fairly fast scans- Can scan a whole roll of film at once- Saves to SD cards- Built in LCD screen to preview the scans before saving- Saves as JPEG files so you can share- 14 MP image sensor produces quite good scans- Does not require a computer (so, images are saved to SD card and can be read by Mac, Windows, Linux, etc)CONS- Pricey, though comparable to a similar Kodak scanner (but the Kodak cannot scan prints)- Manual has grammatical errors, but was easy enough to follow- Can only scan one print at a time, but can process a whole roll of a filmOverall, despite the high price for these types of devices, it accomplishes what I needed -- and does it very well. Being able to save precious memories is PRICELESS.

Photos saved!
I purchased this for my wife after we did a clean out of our storage area and discovered a "million" photos saved in various boxes. We are downsizing or reducing our footprint and needed away to keep our photo memories without the many boxes. The solution was Digital Film & Photo Scanner, High Resolution 16MP Film Scanner with 2.4" LCD Screen, 4 in 1 Scanner Converts 35mm/135 Slides & Negatives Film, Photo, Name Card for Saving to Digital Files. My wife is not a tech person but she was able to set this up without any trouble and start scanning and saving photos right away. Also get a SD card to increase storage capability.

Not worth the money
I bought this hoping to scan old photos into my computer to save on my external hard drive to have them forever. It would not connect to my computer to save them directly there. Using an SD card, it would only save 5 photos, and then they had to be saved to the computer, deleted from the card. It was a real pain. The photo holder only holds a true 4X6 photo, anything just a little shorter did not stay in the holder and I lost a photo in the unit. Not worth the money, a printer will work much better for scanning.

Not what I hoped for
While this device is pretty easy to operate, I was disappointed with the quality. I had to make adjustments to the color, contrast and brightness of every negative. It became more time consuming than I wanted to put in. I didn’t try slides with it. The photo scanning was ok except that it also captured the plastic frame that holds the photo. Which means additional time spent cropping photos. I have too many to spend the time doing that. I returned this device and bought the Kodak Scanza. It doesn’t do photos, but way better quality and almost no editing. I will purchase a separate high quality scanner once I’m done with my negatives and slides.
