Jakks GT Eis Shenron
Dragon Ball GT. You either love it or you hate it. Personally, I'm somewhere in the middle. While I could totally do without the first half of GT (the Baby Saga, for example) I found the second half to be much better. The Super Android 17 Saga had some interesting points and I felt the Shadow Dragon Saga was pretty darn good (just rushed and simplified in that annoying GT style).Speaking of the seven Shadow Dragons, Eis Shenron, Dragon of the Three Star Ball, is my favorite (he's also the only Dragon of the lot in which the wish that brought him into existence was never clarified).Unfortunately, Jakks Pacific only made three of the seven Shadow Dragons; including Omega, Nouva and Eis. It's too bad the other four was never made, particularly Oceanus. As for this figure, one of the things that makes it so expensive is the error on the packaging. The figure here is in fact Eis Shenron and not Nova (Nuova or Nouva as he's more popularly known) Shenron. Mistakes like this happen from time to time, I guess the best explanation is the fact that the exact same figure was used for both Eis and Nouva, just different paint schemes. As far as the figure goes, I simply love it and it's currently the only American made item in my collection (I also consider it a center piece or crown jewel). Eis has lots of articulation, at least 16 points and most likely more; and has an amazing sculpt. Unfortunately, his color is all wrong. In the anime, Eis was more of an aqua blue color and not the much darker midnight blue of the figure. Still yet, the paint scheme looks fabulous and has a faint metallic sparkle under good lighting. His head sculpt with his grim scowl and his wonderfully sculpted wings are definitely the highlights of this particular figure.Unfortunately, this figure can be expensive and hard to find. It took me a year or so to find an excellent, MIB example for my collection; and even then it wasn't half as much as the audacious war price listed here. So, if you're a fan of Dragon Ball, or particularly GT or just collect DB stuff and are always looking for an uncommon rarity to add to your collection, pick this figure up. Just be patient and shop around first!
