I wish that I could have given this 5 stars but I could not. I have one significant complaint.The tapped holes in the mounting bracket do not line up with the holes in the fixture case. The holes cannot be enlarged in either piece without really messing up the assembly. The only solutions are to send it back and hope for a properly manufactured replacement or do what I did. I shimmed the mounting bracket out from my headboard just enough to bring the holes out further to align with those in the fixture case. This took some trial and error to get it right. I ended up putting a properly sized (thickness) washer on the BACK side of the mounting bracket. This was a PITA ..........trying to keep it from falling off while installing the screw, front washer, bracket, and additional back washer all at the same time. Had to hunt it down in the carpet a couple of times.However, with the light now installed, it looks really good. The flexible gooseneck, the dimmer, and all else operate smoothly / flawlessly. The light beam width / focus is perfect. I don't offer this level of praise lightly. I am VERY picky.....anal some would say.The light is on the yellow side. I knew when ordering that it would be on the lower end of Kelvin scale, so I cannot complain. I typically prefer a whiter light to see better. But this one is so bright, that even with my failing eyesight I do not have to turn it up to full power. Full power is actually just a little bit TOO bright!Even if required to shim another bracket, this is a definite buy again. Ordering another for my wife.

Read the reviews and make sure you don’t sink your screw plugs too deep - or put a washer in between wall and bracket. Test before you mount and you’ll see what depth you need.The thick black power cable didn’t agree with all home design preferences in our house. Trying to route it behind a furniture leg.Some creaking in the gooseneck. We’ll see if it loosens up.It dims great and is one of very few with a real old-school dimmer electrical knob with click-off. Fantastic! The light is still fairly strong and spreads wide when at the minimum, wish it would dim even lower. Might try to filter it more.Completely useless magnifying glass toy was included in the package.All else, this is great and does what it says. Happy I went for it!

My aging eyes strained to read a book with the lamp on the adjacent night table, so I looked at a dozen reading lights on Amazon. The Kernorv was more expensive, but received good reviews so I purchased one on a Saturday. It arrived on Monday and I easily installed it that afternoon. The workmanship is just fine and it works great! The dimming knob is integrated with the on-off switch. I can easily reach up and turn it on/off, brighter or dimmer.I liked it so much that I just ordered a second one to put in a guest bedroom to replace a bedside floor lamp that I've move downstairs to aid my reading in the family room.

What a piece of crap manufacturing this thing is. Really wanted the mechanical on/off dimming switch, but wow, this is among the junkiest produced things I've ever ordered. First, there's NO back on the base, so the electrical parts are just open -- is that even legal/safe? I've never seen anything like that. I understand it's not going to be visible, but seriously? If there's a malfunction, short, surge, spark of some kind, there is nothing to contain it, and given pretty much everyone is mounting these to wooden headboards... Ya, no. That's ridiculous. They couldn't have spent the extra 4 cents to make this thing a bit less of a fire hazard?But none of that even matters as good luck mounting this POS with the included bracket. There is no wiggle room for the holes that are supposed to attach the base to the bracket, but when screwed in, the bracket sits LOWER than the edge of the lamp base. Not gonna work. So, unless you're prepared to screw new holes in the bracket which will then no longer offer a snug fit, you will not be able to mount this fixture.What would have been a potentially great bedside light is in the execution total crap for the shoddy workmanship. Oh, and to the people who were impressed with the mass-printed, crumpled Thank You note included in the box... are you kidding? This unmountable fire hazard is going back along with the super sincere Thank You note.

The product is clean & elegant with a highly polished finish. Installation took only a few minutes. Two wood screws attach a bracket to the wall and two machine screws attach the lamp to the bracket. Flexible gooseneck is 16 inches long, lamp housing is 1 inch diameter. Emitted beam of light is 8 inches in diameter at a distance of 16 inches from the lamp. This is large enough to illuminate a book without flooding the room with light. Result is a private reading light with adjustable brightness.

First, check for studs before you drill for the anchors. I didn't and hit a stud, so i replaced one anchor and screw with a 2" decking screw. No harm, no foul. And I used a 13/64" drill for the anchors.By assembling things off the wall I could see that the bracket and screw holes in the lamp body weren't going to line up. Others have noticed this too. There is an easy fix, however. I put two washers on each screw between the bracket and the wall and everything lined up perfectly. Otherwise an easy installation.

We purchased this reading light to use in our bedroom. My husband likes to read in bed and I like to sleep. Previous lamps were too bright, keeping me awake, while others were too dim, making him have to twist awkwardly to be able to see enough to read by. This light is great; easy installation above our bed it's small size don't detract from the rest of the room. The gooseneck is long enough to maneuver and the light is fantastic to read by. VERY HAPPY
