100% as tested
Updated: After reading CandK's comment to my original post - I performed a drop test. I put 3 x 5lbs steel plates in a manner that a tool would be connected and then attached the carabiner to a forged eye-bolt in a 8" steel I-beam. After several full-length falls, this device works perfectly! No failures nor signs of stress. The carabiner is indeed steel, with strength far exceeding the need. I have updated my rating to 5-stars and show my original post below. Made in the USA.------------Perfect for amateur, occasional, and non-professional use. Extends and retracts (coiled bungee) very well. I would not use this on anything larger than a 10"-12" Crescent Wrench or large thru-hole Screwdriver while up on a personally-owned tower. Easily attaches to the proper tools without issue. Sliding "choke" is plastic and the carabiners are aluminum single-action clips- so do not use in a critical nor life-safety environment. The 3 fit easily in my climbing pouch and can be deployed quickly.

Well made.
These are sturdier than I thought. I switched out the little strap for a carabiner, because I’m using them as a camera crane safety. They work great. As a tool lanyard, probably the best. Good price too.

Well-made, well-sized, and up to the task.
Very nicely made, with a good quality YKK stopper and a steel carabiner. The tool-attachment end is built with some redundancy, so if one of the sewed independent ends of the loop fails under stress, the other one and the stopper will still (probably) keep your tool with you. These are just the right length to keep a hand tool under control, without forcing you to work against a resistance. I got a pack of 3 to use with my rigging tools while I'm on my boats, in order to keep my tools from falling into the water. However, I immediately started thinking of other places (like 19 feet up on a ladder) where I'd rather have my tools sticking with me, rather than dropping. The job of changing the leash from one tool to another is the work of a few seconds. My only question now is do I get another 3-pack, or more...

Good value. Not great, but could be...
These lanyards are pretty good, but not quite great. For the money they are a a good value, so don't hesitate. Here's what would make them great, and I would be willing pay a higher price (or lower) price for them configured this way:I climb towers. Safety gear is heavy, far more so than sport climbing gear is. I would prefer either a lightweight aluminum carabiner at a few more dollars, or a lower price and no carabiner. I would provide my own. I found a 3 pack of wire gate carabiners (XTEK) rated at 23Kn (5171 lbs) and weighing 1 ounce for $9.99.The sewing was well done on the loop for the carabiner. The material is of good quality, but the elastic seems less sturdy. Time will tell how well it holds up. Again, I would pay more for better elastic in the shock cord. The tool attachment end is OK. The sewing for the primary loop seems sturdy and was well done. The loop attachment for the tool seems sturdy, until you look closely at. It is split to form the 2 ends that fit through the larger primary loop. This is the obvious weak point. I'd guess these would have a higher working load limit with a better tool loop ad the aluminum carabiners. The plastic cord locking mechanism is rectangular and large enough to be used with gloves on. There is no actual spring inside, eliminating a possible corrosion problem in harsh environments. The loop cord can still be pulled through with a firm tug and as it wears, it will become easier to pull through, and less secure. I remove the mechanism, loop my tools through, and then tape them for safety &, security. It sucks having to climb down to retrieve a dropped tool and climb back up. It sucks more if you drop it on your partner.I wish there was an option for different colors in the 3 pack, not just black. This would make it quick & easy to grab the right tool.

Great product! works great and looks professional!
Really great lanyard that i use for work for my tools when working in high places. It is really great quality, and feels very secure with my tools. It does stretch the length of my body for when i'm reaching way overhead, so thats perfect. I am 5'11 so if you were taller, it being attached to a belt loop might be tight. Looks really good a professional compared to just using some rope or string for tying off items.

Don’t worry clumsy guy, I got you!
Great tool lanyards, that are American made at a good price. I will be buying more soon.

Great item but one was sent with a defect
The lanyards look like they are well made except I received one with strands of strings coming apart. I would give it five stars if they all came in good condition.

Kayak tether
I like this product for mounting in the unit to the front of the kayak and using it to connect kayaks together while you’re just floating in the water so you don’t end up on two separate areas. They work really well I’m happy with the product
