Can it be used on color treated hair

It depends on how much color has been used on the hair. if it's been colored and has a lot of highlights, I won't recommend it. But if you're going to use it anyways you just have to be watchful to make sure you're not going to ruin the hair or worst case scenario hair might fall out.

1 packet is more than you needed for medium length hair but it depends on how thick the hair is.

Does this last a certain amount of time?

what do you mean. shelf life or after I use it? if after I used it is your question, it normally last 3-6 months. It depends on how fast the hair grow. My clients have it done at least twice a year. Does this answer your question?
