Made in China, not by Drill America.....
Deception is an art..... nothing Drill "American" in this package. Really? Made in China.... ? The 3 tap set does not have proper taps. They are all starter taps with almost identical cuts. They all are shaped the same, but it steps down thread cutting by 1 thread each. Not what was promised. Not impressed, and for sure returning. I don't trust this junk on my cars.

NOT Bottom taps as pictured, not even 1 bottom tap as described
As you can see from the pictures, what I received is not what is advertised. The description says set of 3, and lists the styles, one of which is a bottom tap. I've seen other reviews for Drill America taps now that also have received the wrong taps. Buyer beware!

As described. Works well. Good value
My first/only use of these so far was to tap some holes in brass, drilled about 1-1.5 inches deep down the length of 2" brass rod (so the holes were not through-holes, and required bottom tapping). These got the job done with no fuss. Mileage may vary on harder metals, but I had no problems getting these holes tapped perfectly in brass with these taps using a little cutting lubricant (did them slowly by hand). For the money, I felt it was good value to get all 3 varieties.

Poor Q.C.; oversize flats
I expected a cheap tap, given the price, but this 1-8 tap still disappointed me. I used it to chase an already threaded hole in cast iron, way down in a deep well. It would not fit in my Lisle tap socket. The nominal spec for the flats on a 1" tap is .600"; I measure my other 1" taps at .595+-.001". This one was .603" one way and .602" the other; too big for a tap socket. I had to mutilate it on a belt grinder to get it to fit.

Pic doesn’t match. I couldn’t return them.
I don’t know how I bought this with all the negative reviews but now I can’t even return it, ha! There is no taper, plug, and bottom taps. All of them approximate this but then have a sharp point at the bottom. There’s a huge banner in the description that is probably the most misleading part. The ones in the photo are a much larger size also. Just be wary if you’re looking for a way to install metric zerk fittings and end up on this page trying to get something by tomorrow, this is not what you see in the photo. I didn’t use it and chance the results of my job.

Worst tap I have ever used.
I ordered these for a project that I needed to tap .092 mild steel. My local parts store brand lasted approx 45 holes. Thinking ahead I ordered these as backups but snapped both usable taps in the set on the very next hole. Complete garbage....you couldn't pay me to use this brand again.

Got the job done
I bought this set to clear out the threads on my 3D printer. The threads that mount the nozzle in the hotend of my Ender3 printer. The threads get clogged with filament sometimes. This was the only way to get a bottom tap in this Metric size.
