Works well!
This stuff is amazing. I accidentally ordered the spearmint scent. I don't like that so pay attention if that's important to you!

Soothing Relief for Sunburned Skin
Using the Australian Gold Aloe Vera with Lidocaine Spray Gel has been a game-changer in my DIY sunburn care routine. It provides instant relief from the pain and itching caused by sunburns, making it an essential item in my summer arsenal. What I appreciate most about this product is its cooling effect. The spray gel formula combines aloe vera with lidocaine, delivering a soothing sensation that immediately calms irritated skin. It's incredibly effective in reducing discomfort, allowing me to relax and recover faster after a day in the sun.One thing to note is the gel's consistency—it's lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving a greasy residue. This makes it convenient to apply and reapply throughout the day, ensuring continuous relief from sunburn symptoms. While the spray bottle design is convenient, it can sometimes dispense more product than needed with a single spray, which can lead to over-application. Adjusting the spray pressure or distance can help control the amount dispensed more accurately.I primarily use this gel for treating sunburns, but its multi-functional nature extends to soothing other skin irritations like insect bites and minor burns. The fresh scent is pleasant and not overpowering, which adds to the overall soothing experience. In conclusion, the Australian Gold Aloe Vera with Lidocaine Spray Gel is a lifesaver for anyone dealing with sunburn discomfort. Its fast-acting relief, non-greasy formula, and versatile application make it a staple in my summer skincare routine.

Perfect for that moment of stupidity on your part
My father and I share our Amazon account- I bought this aloe in tandem with the sunscreen for my trip to Rio. Thanks to how great the sunscreen is, I was only burned once. It was a pretty cloudy day, so I didn't put any sunscreen on until later in the day, and when I did, I entirely neglected to put any on my chest. The burn was enough to be annoying, but as soon as I went back I put this aloe on.It can be a little intimidating at first. The smell is strong and you get a knee jerk reaction that it is definitely going to sting when you put it on. When you finally work up the guts to put it on your body, it's a much better experience than any aloe I've had before. Other aloes feel like you jump from one extreme to the other- very hot to shoving ice cubes on your chest and then within minutes, it simmers back to feeling way too hot. This aloe does not give that initial jolt of cool, but it does not warm up quickly at all. The lidocaine is very soothing and allowed me to sleep with no irritation in that area. After the fact- the only thing left on me from the burn is a bit of redness. It's been 2 days since I was burned, so for a normal person, that might sound normal, but for me it is not. I am basically a walking piece of tinfoil under a heat lamp. Once it gets in, it does not want to go out. For this burn to already be dissipating with only mild application of aloe is absolutely amazing- especially considering I took the entire bottle with me, anticipating to use the entire thing. I only ended up using 1 quarter sized drop to cover my chest from the shoulders and neck to my armpits. It spreads very well, just like the sunscreen, and once you've put it on, the strong smell calms itself down and stops it's direct assault on your nostrils.Overall, it was a very pleasant product and I will be gladly buying it again 5 years from now, because this bottle is probably never going to run out.

Not hypoallergenic! Beware! Contains lanolin.
I'll have to preface this review by saying that I understand I should have thoroughly checked the ingredients before purchasing. That said, I've been nursing a pretty painful sunburn the last few days, and in my desperate search for relief, I ordered this stuff. I still had a bit of aloe gel left in an old bottle that got me through a few days, combined with a few applications of Aspercreme I happened to have on hand, so I was delighted to find a gel here on Amazon that already contained lidocaine and promptly added it to my cart. Relief was in my grasp.Or so I thought.Today my purchase arrived, and while my burn was no longer quite so sensitive to the touch, I was still a bit sore. I tore open the Amazon packaging and got to work slathering this stuff all over my body. After a few applications today, I noticed a bit of an itching sensation. Must be the sunburn. But isn't the lidocaine supposed to help with that? And why are my hands itchy? After further inspection I reviewed the ingredients. There it was. My enemy. The very thing that's haunted me since childhood. My old nemesis, lanolin. Now I've known I have a lanolin allergy for some time now. Sweater shopping in winter, wool socks, A&D Ointment on a fresh tattoo, skincare products I've loved only to learn I can no longer use them: all things that were supposed to bring me comfort, only to betray me with rashes and swelling. And this gel. This gel I thought would abate my suffering, but alas Lanolin returned once more to penetrate my back with her dastardly blade (and belly and legs and everywhere else on my body feeling from over exposure to our fiery light in the sky). You've won again, old foe. I surrender this battle and seek the palliation of an antihistamine. A new gel with menthol and lidocaine at a similar price point (and no lanolin!) will be arriving in two days, likely when I will no longer need it, but I will be armed for my next encounter with the sun.Now if I really wanted to mince words, I would also point out this product is labelled as cruelty-free, but lanolin is an animal ingredient, so I'm not sure if the manufacturer can properly make that claim. If that sort of thing is important to you when making a purchase, be advised. I guess I'll give this bottle to a friend to use since I've already opened it. Just carefully check the ingredients before you buy. Don't be like me.
