Exo TerraPT2335 Day/Night LED Fixture, Small

I have a few different Exo Terra 8x8x12 terrariums that I decided to try out several different lighting options with, this is one of them and definitely my favorite! The light spectrum is what makes it stand out, it just amazing! The simplicity of install was as easy as it gets using double sided tape to adhere to the back of the terrarium. The overall size, shape and fitment for the Exo Terra 8x8x12 is perfect. Thee only downside to this light is it’s actually “free floating” above the lid of the terrarium therefore it allows ALOT of air to enter the terrarium and humidity to escape. If you need to maintain a humidity percentage above lets say 60% then I would suggest using the Exo Terra Compact Top Terrarium Canopy because that “hood” style light holds in humidity consistently @ 70%. I will be adding a small piece of acrylic with holes drilled to lay over the lid to help maintain some more humidity. Exo Terra could maybe offer optional lids to help combat fluctuating humidty percentage. Overall, it fits, looks sleek, it’s easy to install, the price is right and it shipped fast and works GREAT!

I have this light set up with a timer! Its the perfect amount of light for a 20 gal tank! The blue light is super convenient to have on at night to see my little guys without it being super bright!

I bought this light for my chubby frogs that are in a 10 gallon, long tank and it leaves a lot to be desired. The description on this listing isn't specific about what size of tank this should go on, or that it is mostly designed for Exo Terras. It leaves quite a bit of dark areas in the enclosure during the day. The coverage at night is pretty decent and gives the chubs plenty of darkness while allowing us to see what they're up to. If I were going to buy this again for a 10 gallon, I'd likely get the next size up. However, I'm not going to buy it again for a couple of reasons.Quite a few people have mentioned that the adhesion began to fail shortly after mounting. I followed the directions (and then some) when I mounted this light. The instructions tell you to firmly hold the mounting bracket to the side of the tank for 30 seconds. I used a trigger clamp and held mine for 30 minutes before mounting the light. This didn't stop the light from beginning to separate from the bank of the enclosure within 12 hours. The day after installing the light I recognized a major flaw in the design of this light for enclosures other than the front opening Exo Terras; this light is mounted in such a way that it will not allow you to remove the lid without removing the light from the bracket. Not at all convenient if you have this set up.I ended up using some heavy duty double-sided tape and a block of wood to extend the bracket and the arm of the light away from the tank so that I'd be able to remove the lid more easily. This seems to be doing the trick for the chubs so far, but it seems like a lot of work to retrofit something just for the convenience of a white to blue light. Even if I hadn't had to do a retrofit, I still don't know that I would trust the light to stay put given the failing adhesive within 12 hours.

I use this for my crested gecko vivarium. The light works great! I tap on and tap off. I do not use the blue light, but it’s a cool feature to use to check in at night without shining a bright white light. It doesn’t heat the enclosure and is the perfect amount of light.I highly recommend. Great product!

I really like it but id doesn't fit correctly on my tank and will fall off if bumped slightly or jiggled.

I simply didn't know better until today.I've had this light for 1 year for my first jumping spider. Well, the light worked fine and I never had any problems. But today, I got a different LED light and the output is SO MUCH brighter.Essentially, this entire time, my little Spider was virtually in the dark. I had just assumed that was how the smaller lights were. WRONG. The new light makes this light look like my 8x8in terrarium was in the dark!Now that I have the new light (about to go write an awesome review on that), it revealed how poor the light output is on this one. I simply had no idea!Now I know better, so I'm sharing here.

I was looking for a new light for my crested gecko so that he could keep his day/night cycle especially being that I work nights so I have my room blacked out during the day. The lamp I had was great but it was producing way too much heat for my little crestie. I bought this in hopes that it wouldn’t produce heat, and it doesn’t! My tank stays the perfect temperature. It even has a cool night mode that I intend on using for him!

Very pleased with this purchase! So after buying the first one I bought 2 more!
