- Designer's Notes: "These series of swords are designed and built with superb handling and cutting ability in mind, which is why I started with designing the habaki. The habaki dimensions dictates how the sword handles and where the weight is distributed along the sword. Then the blade is designed according to the specific cutting purpose it will fulfill. Overall, I strived to design purpose-built swords that are tailored to the serious cutter, martial artist, or enthusiast." Overall Length: 39.75", Blade Length: 28" (Nagasa), Handle Length: 10.5", Weight w/o Scab: 2 Lbs 7 Ozs, Balance Point: 5.5" from the Tsuba Blade: The blade is made with very tough 1075 spring steel which has a superior heat treatment. It has ha-niku or convex edge profiling right along the edge to give a strong edge with a shallow primary edge angle. This sword also has a wider blade for better cutting performance. It has an O-kissaki with a wire-brushed gunome hamon. The blade comes very sharp and full tang. Saya: The saya of the sword is wooden with a black high gloss finish and bull horn koiguchi. The sageo is thick blue cotton tied over a wooden kurigata with golden shitedome. The habaki, and seppa are made of brass, with an elegant and user friendly blackened brass tsuba. The fuchi and kashira is blackened bronze with dragon motiff. The tsuka has very tight hinerimaki (handle wrapping) using blue synthetic ito over genuine white samegawa ray skin.
