Good Purchase If You Find the Right Size
Having been a RayBan admirer for most of my life as well as an owner as soon as I could afford to buy it on my own (age 17), I was pleased that the typical life of these sunglasses are about 20-25 years minimum. They last a long time if you care for them (i.e. polish and clean, keep the lenses from getting scratched, tighten screws occasionally). Some people just beat the heck out of them but then wonder why they break. The challenge when finding the replacement (hence the review title) is to make sure you get the right size. Contrary to popular belief, glasses are like shoes - they must fit the person's face. Case in point, I had ordered a 52mm size Aviators for the missus when hers finally fell apart, and no amount of maintenance could put it back together. Since she had owned hers since before flight school, it had more than paid for itself. However, the 52mm was too small even for her petite face. I later found that I needed a 58mm size. Trying to find a 58mm with a support bar (the crosspiece above the nose) and cable temples (instead of regular solid hooks over your ears) was challenging to say the least. Fortunately, Amazon made it easy and I found the right style and frame. It's all black instead of the classic gold frame, but otherwise the missus is pleased (and by definition, so am I). This is a great buy at a good price. Shipping was on time and well padded. The only item of slight concern is that the quality of the leather case appears to have gone down in manufacturing over the years. Nominal use (daily open/close while stored in the car) has resulted in the button snap starting to wear at the point that it is sown into the case flap. We'll just simply replace it with the older case which has nice fatigue patterns but still snaps confidently to this day.

The Rayban Outdoorsman are the sunglasses to get
Hi. I'm an American expat writer living in Thailand where most Westerners drive motorcycles day in and day out and it's so warm that one can swim everyday of the year. In Thailand we can get Rayban copies for $3.50 a pair at most of the local markets. But it's a matter of life and death here in the Land of Smiles driving a motorbike looking for the next story or character and these Chinese made Rayban knockoffs don't cut it even if they look cool and have Rayban inscribed into their lenses. These either have plastic lenses that scratch easily or they are made of glass that breaks the first time they fall to the ground. The little screws holding the temples on the Chinese look a likes are also prone to coming out and then you must throw the cheap copies away. I've never had a lens on a pair of genuine Rayban Aviators or outdoorsman break. The screws in a pair of Outdoorsman or Aviators are meant to be replaced while the general construction of these sunglasses allows them to take a lot of abuse. But a real pair of Outdoorman-at $100 a pair costs nearly 30 times as much as the copies so it doesn't make sense to spend this much even if it's the real deal, does it? Wrong. Most people who drive motorbikes here sooner or later have at least one serious accident so the single most important advantage to paying so much more is that you really do see a lot better through them. And that translates into greater longevity. I don't know what Rayban does but I think they coat the lenses and this causes the image to be significantly sharper and to have much better contrast. This is extremely important when you are driving a motorbike, especially when the people all around you drive as insanely as they do here. What also separates the Outsdoorman from so many sunglasses, and this includes many Aviator models as well, are the cable temples that go around your ears. These glasses will stay on and that makes a huge difference when you are driving a motorbike, snow skiing or participating in other activities that can easily cause a pair of sunglasses to slip off. Welcome to the Fun House

Ray-ban outdoorsman - One of the best shades out-there in terms of quality, esthetism and design
I absolutely ADORE them! They are very stylish and have a very robust feel to them. I have a small to medium sized face and 58 mm was the perfect fit. It won't fit anyone though because the cables basically hook your ears for a very tight fit (they're called outdoorsman for a reason) and the temples are kind of short as well, so depending on how your face is constructed - how big your head is in terms of diameter, how large your face is or how far your ears are from your face - it might definitively hurt your nose and the back of your ears. So do your due diligence and buy smart. Personally, I went to a store first, tried them on, decided on what size fitted me the best and came back home to order them online. These were easily going for 200 bucks at the store and I got them for half the price here.

Great Ray Bans and great seller
I had a pair of this style of Ray Ban's years ago but lost them. I've always wanted to buy another pair. I did and I love them again. They fit perfectly, feel solid and look great. However, I happened on Amazon and noticed an ad for Ray Bans, so I clicked and clicked some more. What concerned me looking at all these different pairs of Ray Bans is the problem with authenticity of the glasses when purchasing online not just Amazon. I immediately got the pair I purchased, took a very good look and they appear to be an authentic pair made in Italy. Still not completely positive I looked at the sellers review history (iframes eyewear) and they have a very good rating and guarantee. I am satisfied with the purchase and can recommend the seller as legit and someone that I would purchase from again. It wasn't until after purchasing that I noticed that they are from Australia. Another 5 stars for only taking 4 days to arrive, which I thought to be quite impressive considering the location and the price I paid, which was considerably less than the price the current seller is selling them for.
