Thank You, God, For Mommy

I read A LOT of books about the mom-child relationship from kissy/lovey types (which were so not me) through to religious books (that just boxed moms into certain roles and tasks). After all that reading and some returns... this book is hands down my favorite mommy book!One of the main reasons I like this book so much is that the book manages to represent the mom-child relationship without relying on too many specific tasks... which not every mom will necessarily fit into. So instead of saying something like mommy takes me to the park and plays with me on the slide, this book instead focuses on the feelings a mom provides in the relationship like mommy's smile shines so bright and cheers me up inside when I am feeling sad. By having the book focus on feelings and deeper connections to one's parent, the book becomes deeper and far more valuable that any other mom-child book I have read for toddlers.The book covers how the mom provides cheer when a child is sad, forgiveness when uh-ohs happen, love through actions, healing/caring of wounds, encouraging joy/laughter, calming fears, exampling faith, and singing lullabies.

Love Amy Parker books. Nothing's more bonding than sitting quietly and slowly reading sweet books to your little ones. Take the time to be in the moment and see that sweet face as he/she looks up at you and smiles. I got the other book Thank You God for Daddy also!

My son loves this book. I do too. We have the Daddy one and keep both on picture shelves on the wall on each side of our beds so we can read it to him before bed. I will probably get the grandpa and grandma ones as well.

Not only does my 2 1/2 year old grandson LOVE this book, this Mimi LOVES watching his 9 year old brother read it to him! :-) He has already had it read to him so many times, he will read it aloud HIMSELF when all of us tire out!!! No, he doesn't get the words correctly, but he KNOWS that Mommy loves him!

I purchased this book as a gift for my one-year-old grandson. He enjoys having it read to him on a daily basis. The illustrations are colorful and the story line is appropriate for his age level. The book is sturdy and fits small hands well.

My grandson loves to have this book read to him over and over. I also bought "Thank you God for Daddy" which he also loves to "read".

I picked this up as a gift for my daughter to give to my wife. There are enough pages in here that you won't read through ti quickly and its great for reminding my little one how awesome Mommy is. book is made of solid material and should last long enough.
