needs a shim
I play a Yamaha YSS with an Otto Link metal mouthpiece usually, but remembered that the graphonite mouthpiece I had (and broke) years ago was a lot quieter, so I bought this one to try and save my hearing. This is weird. I have to almost push it down to touching the octave key pad to stop air leaks. In other words the bore is too large. Any larger it would have fitted my alto. If I put it to the same spot where other mouthpieces fit snug and play a C, this mouthpiece is super loose and plays a B or even lower. ???? Did the previous reviewer really use this mouthpiece? And the cap must be worth about 50 cents, so how could a previous reviewer claim it was better than others? O.K., 60 cents. As I do not have a printer I cannot send it back to Amazon. Amazon should be ashamed for selling poor quality items like this.I know I got what I paid for. Try the Rico for an acceptable cheap mouthpiece.

Good but not great
This mouthpiece, ligature and cap are a great bargain, but that bargain comes with a price. The mouthpiece is a bit too open for the average soprano sax player, who typically plays either alto sax or tenor sax and only occasionally plays soprano. The price is excellent, and the fact that it included the ligature and cap made it an even better deal. This mouthpiece is much more open than the mouthpiece I was replacing, but I was able to accommodate that by using a slightly softer reed. This is a good but not great mouthpiece. It's not constructed nearly as well as those mouthpiece which cost a lot more, but then again at this price, who would expect it to be. It's a good but not great mouthpiece, just don't expect it to be an easy playing mouthpiece right out of the box.

A good buy
See my review of the Palatino tenor saxophone mouthpiece for my evaluation of this mouthpiece. The cap for the soprano mouthpiece is better than the one supplied with the tenor, but otherwise they performed about the same.
