This is not easy and it will take a long time
This book was written about 100 years ago by the creator of the Rider-Waite Tarot Deck. If you are not used to reading books written 100 years ago or more, you may find the reading to be very difficult, in not impossible. Back in the day, writers had a very verbose and rambling style compared to contemporary writers. This is especially so with books about spiritual, occult, and esoteric subject matter.Don't expect to be able to do Tarot readings immediately after you finish reading this book or any other books about the Tarot. To successfully do readings, you must study all of the cards in the deck and know the symbolism of each. This is not easy and it will take a long time.

Kindle book same as the Print book in the P. C. Smith commemorative Set
At times I prefer a digital book back up copy, to my bound version of the same book. This is one of those times. If it suits you, buy both. $3.00 is not a lot to pay for not having to worry about loss, damage or your bound book. It is also a lot easier to read/study in bed and not disturb someone else's sleep. I tried the sample. I liked it, so I purchased the e-book. If I fall asleep, the tablet turns off the light and usually restarts on the page I was on. Of course that depends up your grip. You may find yourself many pages away.

Pictoral Key to the Tarot by Arthur E Waite
This is likely a very important book since it was written by the creator of the Waite Tarot deck. It may have been directed towards persons already very familiar with tarot reading. It does picture each card in the deck and explains interrelationships and alternate explanations that went right over my head. I found the explanations ambiguous and repetitive. I personally found Pollack's "Seventy Eight Degrees of Wisdom" far more helpful. The explanations of the symbolism and detail contained on each card were better, more interesting and more thorough.

Terrible
I bought both the paper back and the Kindle version. The paperback was fine, this is not a review for that.I want to warn against the kindle version of this. Most of the pictures are missing, and the ones that are there, are in the wrong places. It's terrible. Avoid it.

Not enough information for tarot beginners
The style of writing is early 20th Century, not an easy read for tarot beginners, but excellent source material for serious esoteric students.

Excellent
A E Waite's book is well worth the read. After all he is the father of the concise modern tarot, and as he is the founding father of same, he does know his subject, because it is his subject.Tarot was was not his only interest, his other books make a good foundation for the study of all related subjects.HTH

No coloured illustrations!
I was very disappointed as I expected the ‘pictorial guide’ to have coloured illustrations to go with text, as part of the learning of reading the cards. Unfortunately, there were black prints only for each card.
