Vionic vs. 'Ohana; Depends On Type of Foot
I bought these Vionic sandals from Amazon at the exact same time as I purchased 'Ohanas from the company site. I put Vionic on the right foot and 'Ohana on the left, then walked around. Vionic offers a higher, firmer arch support. 'Ohana offers a softer pad with lower, cushiony arch support. My feet require higher arch support, so they felt best in the Vionic sandals. 'Ohana may be best for people with flatter feet who need gentle support. Also, 'Ohana seem to be made for people with itty, bitty, narrow feet. They run small (I ordered a size larger than my normal and they were tight). Vionic, however, run normal to big. I ordered a size smaller and they fit great. For my particular feet, Vionic is better and I'm returning the 'Ohana.

Tide II by Vionic is not THE Orthoheel Tide!
I have 7 or 8 pairs of the original Orthoheel Tide sandals and have been wearing them for several years as my only non-hiking sandals. The Tide II is a poor replacement for the original. The original Tide had a firm, arch-supporting footbed that hugged your feet and felt like silk due the high quality rubber material. They gave exceptional support and could be worn out walking casually all day without foot pain or fatigue. The Tide II is a poor replacement. I just purchased two other colors to add to my wardrobe. I am so disappointed. The straps do not fully support, the footbed and sole are plastic. They do not firmly support but tend to rock around and compromise balance. After one day of wear I had twinges of plantar fasciitis starting again after being controlled for 7 years. Vionic has managed to ruin the best supportive sandal on the market. I can't imagine why they would change the original. It was constructed of quality material, lasted forever, gave exceptional support and was a cult favorite.

They've changed
This is the second time I've ordered these. I loved my first pair, they helped with my plantar fasciitis the previous year and I basically wore them out. I bought this pair to use for walking 4-5 miles/day. These were different from the first pair I bought. They are much harder and the footbed is slippery. I got a blister from the strap the first time I wore them going for a mile walk. I'm really disappointed because they are so different from when the other pair was new. Unfortunately, I've worn them so I can't return them. If you've purchased them in the past, be aware that they have changed and try them out inside first.

I returned these Vionics - cheap quality compared to the old original "ORTHOHEEL" Brand
I have a pair of Orthaheel sandals that look much like these. I believe that these new ones which are actually made by a new company, Vionic, are not nearly as good as the old ones made by the original Orthaheel company. I returned these due to their poor quality. They are more "PLASTICY" than my old ones. They do not feel as good. They seem "cheap" lightweight and flimsy compared to my old ones which seemed to have a more solid feel to them. It's too bad that Vionic changed the "recipe" for a good shoe. They are no longer good.

Wow, What a Flip-Flop!!!
These shoes do take a little getting used to, especially if you're used to wearing flip-flops and shoes with little to zero arch support. I was actually forced into ordering footwear with substantial arch support. Like many women, I've recently developed plantar fasciitis in both feet and had something, not sure what since I self-diagnosed, going on with the top of my right foot. I know it sounds like an "old person's" problem, but I'm not that old...more like overweight and a teacher who is on her feet all day. At first, I felt like I was walking with a potato under my arch (and you absolutely should follow the wearing instructions for the first few days, wearing the shoe for an hour or so and gradually increasing the length of time, daily...it's kind of like getting used to contact lenses) but then, they were fine. I've not even had these shoes for a week and I am completely used to them. With taking ibuprofen twice daily, ice, and these shoes, my knife-stabbing heel pain is just about gone and whatever was going on with the top of my right foot is completely gone. I't evident that I can't go barefoot in the house anymore, either, so I pretty much wear these all day. Some purchaser's have given the product a negative review, but you have to follow the adjustment period. Like anything else, you just have to get used to something different. If you stick with these flip-flops, I'm pretty sure you won't regret it. I've actually ordered three more pairs of Vionic shoes in different styles. They are expensive, no doubt, but the way I see it, I won't be able to get new feet and these have to last me another forty years or so, ergo the price is worth it! I normally wear an 8.5 W and if I can't get that size, I order up to a 9 to make up for it. These shoes do run a bit big, so it might be wise to order a size down from a half size, instead of up...I think I could have gotten away with it. I ordered the 8 W for the next three pairs, so we'll have to see how it goes. Cheers to happy feet, knees, hips, and backs :-D

Great Shoes for those with foot issues!!!
I am 42 and have plantar fasciitis in both feet and two heel spurs per foot. I was at the point I could not walk much at all. I like to exercise several times a week and hated being immobile. I bought these shoes hoping for some help with standing and being active much of the day. I live in SC so I wanted shoes I could wear in the house, outside, and kick off, slide on as needed. I love these shoes. I wear them all day, everyday, when it's warm enough..and for southerners that's most of the year. I have found these are very durable, and if they get muddy you can just hose them off...the problem is waiting for them to dry without other good shoes to wear. So buy two pair. I have worn these to do just about everything and they have held up without any problem. I would buy your true size. I have a wide foot and wear 8.5 normally. I bought a 9M and it is just a tad too big but not uncomfortable, wish they had half sizes. The arch support and heel seats are great and I can wear them all day with no problem at all.
