Nice strings, but not exactly what I was looking for.
I ordered a set of these for a P-bass because I wanted the semi-dead sound of flat wounds. Unfortunately for me, they were actually brighter than the round wounds I had on there. Despite this I am really enjoying these.Bottom line: If you like flats but still want a somewhat crisp high end, these are great.Update:It has been 5 years and I still have the same original set on the bass. It doesn't get used as much as my other basses, but I do play it frequently so they have worn in. The strings are still very bright compared to other flatwounds I have played. I have grown to love the sound and I am glad they weren't dull out of the pack like I thought I wanted. When they have been too bright, I just roll down the tone and get the subby dullness. But the great thing about these strings is that I can turn the tone back up and enjoy the brightness. Couldn't do that with most other flatwounds I have tried.

Good strings
Very even volume from string to string, no loud E. Kinda brighter tone for flatwounds.Easier on the fingers. Gonna have to mess around with the trust rod. They do sound pretty good.

lots of thump
I've gotten so I won't use any other string on my P bass and JAZZ bass. I dont change my flatwounds often but love the mo-town sound of these strings. Still able to replicate a Jaco sound by using only the bridge pick up with treble up and bass cut. Well balanced across the fretboard with my P bass and Jazz base. I havent used them with my acfive Spector bass but will soon. My music store doesnt stock these so I rely on Amazon. Never been disappointed.

Great strings - NOT for through body Mustangs
These are solid bass strings but get LaBella special Mustang bass strings if you have a through body design. The Amazon description should say that and does not.

Hands down best bass strings for a fretless
Hands down best bass strings for a fretless. My fender w/ nordstrand pickups loves these strings. Plus, you don't get the same calluses you would with round wounds, and they're a really nice light gauge for harmonics.

Rotosound SM 77
These are great flatwound strings. Tension is just right for me, not flabby or too stiff. Also these are a little brighter than most flats. Solid lows, balanced mids, and clear highs. Very versatile.

bad string
I received the Rotosound 77 jazz bass strings. Got them in a timely matter no trouble there. The problem is that the "D" string is dead. A thuddy sound instead of nice clear tone. I use these strings a lot and this is the first time anything like this has happened. What now?? I feel cheated because the string is not right. It is the .60 string on the 40-60-80-100 set of flat-wound Rotosound SM77 Monel Flatwound Hybrid Bass Guitar Strings (40 60 80 100) . I guess I will just use it, practice only for now, then after some time when needed, put the other set on and see what happens there. I bought 2 sets of course. Hmmm, disappointed.7/24/15 got another set and same thing, except this time it is the E that is dead. I guess I will have to give up on Roto, my all time favorite strings. :( Too bad. That is three sets in a row, different sting each time.

Great Strings
This is the first time I have used RotoSound flat wounds and they are amazing. I put them on a 1964 P-Bass and play through a MarkBass 2/10 combo amp. Great depth and articulation if needed.

Équilibre, tonalité, définition.
Équilibre, tonalité, définition. C'est incroyable comme le changement des cordes peut enlever un instrument.

Nice flat wounds
I'd previously bought some rotosound nickel round wounds for my new fretted squire vintage jazz bass, but I decided to try flats instead because I think I just hate round wounds. I've got fender flats on my fretless but I thought I'd give these a go. Overall I'm happy with them, they have a nice tone etc, not as smooth nor thumping as the fenders, however the fretless would have an impact on that, and the silks aren't as tidy either, I've found i enjoy playing them way more than the round wounds which just felt cheap to me. I suppose they have a tone more similar to round wounds than to your classic upright bass, very little finger noise, overall I'm happy with the purchase but would probably spend a little more next time.Edit: I've had these on the bass for a month or so now and feel a little bad about my original review. These are really good and bumped up to five stars.

Rapporto qualità-prezzo eccellente

Smooth flatwounds
These flatwounds are a treat on my fretless bass. Slide like a dream compared to the roundwounds that came with this bass. Tension is higher - need to push harder to bend notes, but minimises buzz when tuning down a string (BEAD, as opposed to EADG). Recommended.

Todo ok.
Item recibido en tiempo y forma.Ya he usado estas cuerdas anteriormente y las vuelvo a elegir porque son de alta calidad y al ser lisas, se elimina el sonido de arrastre.
