National Geographic Science of Everything: How Things Work in Our World

Wonderful for my 9 and 11 year old boys. They just love this book. We keep several of these sorts of books lying around the house and I often find one of them plopped down on the floor reading random parts of it. They have learned a lot of science concepts from this book.

Outstanding collection of scientific information. Was purchased for a grandson going into a special 8th grade science program as a birthday gift.

This was a gift for a 7 year old that is into science. He has a father that love science also. This book is good for a parent and child to discover together. It does not go into the DNA of every scientific invention. But an over view, good for getting the child to see things in a different way.

Makes a good gift for people who are interested in science.

I saw the story about the subjects in this great book and bought it first for my grandson for Christmas, then later I decided my husband and myself were always looking up many things on the net and how or why they work or the science being done today. My husband loves to read the Encyclopedia,so this would be great for him. , so I bought another and was able to look first. This summer he is usually out in the garden so I might have the chance to see all the wonders about everything included in the book and would enjoy more information in the future. I think every household should have this book in their collection especially if children are in the home to learn what school can't always cover :so much in so little time

Just started reading this with my kids, this is great. Topics are short 1-2 pages, good for a 20 minute reading period or longer if you keep going.

Do you like knowledge that you can hold over you co-workers, or snarky family members? Do you want to be the smartest guy or gal in the room? Then buy this book and get a paraphrase of how something like a cell phone, or airplane works, when you could just google it, but this is offline so you can like travel with it, but it is kind of heavy, but oh well. Received this as a gift from my wife. Full of interesting information and easy to understand drawings. Love this kind of learning presentation. Fun to page through at any time. You can reading the sections that are most interesting to you or start at the beginning an just go through it.

Not a book to just sit and read, for me anyway, but I do leaf through it now and again. I bought it for my eight year old grandson, it's definitely over his head. It does explain a lot of mysterious things that most people take for granted. If I leave it laying around, everyone had picked it up and become engrossed in it for at least a few minutes.

Firstly it arrived on time for Xmas. A wonderful book for anyone interested in science and the world at large.
