The School Choral Program: Philosophy, Planning, Organizing, and Teaching

This is a great resource for any music educator, really. It's content is often able to be transfered to the instrumental world. This is a great book for everyone from the skilled, veteran choral director to the freshman undergraduate making a decision about music education. It starts with the basics and moves I to very advanced concepts. The chapters are written by different people who are gurus in the field and are specialized to their own expertise. This was very helpful as someone working on a philisophy of choral music education.

Had to buy it for a class but I will definitely be using it after college in my classroom!

Great book on how to teach a choral program, how to create a workable repertoire, what to include in programs, everything a choral teacher would need to lead a successful classroom. I highly recommend this be on any choral instructor's shelf!

In my years of teaching and directing choirs, this book stands out from any resource I own. It shows the director/teacher how to efficiently plan for music selection, rehearsal pacing, etc. You must get it, no matter if you are a professional choral director or music educator!

For the price of the book, you get so much information. This is a resource you will go back to as the different sections become relevant to your teaching career.

This book was exactly what my daughter needed for her Music Classes. It was packaged well and she has found it to be perfect.

Came in perfect condition. Needed this for a class called Teaching Choral Ensembles, and it's actually interesting to read besides needing it for class. Each chapter is written by a different author so some things are repeated multiple times throughout, but it's not a huge deal. And, as an instrumentalist, there are so many parallels to make between the vocal world and the instrumental world.

A wonderful book! Must have for all choir directors/music educators.
