Hook on the end bonus.
Love it but the plastic paddle makes it less durable.

Multi Use Oar
A great multi use telescoping oar. Use it as an oar or a boat hook with efficiency and the built in handle in the paddle make it easy to use. And it is very sturdy when extended and being used as an oar. It is perfect as an emergency oar. I recommend this telescoping oar.

Airhead Telescoping Paddle with Boat Hook, 24"- 72"
Pontoon has limited space for storage and I needed a paddle long enough to meet the boating requirements. This paddle was perfect.

Decent Paddle For When You're In A Pinch
I've used this paddle multiple times now. Not because it was an emergency, but because I was nervous it wouldn't perform when I needed it to based on some of the reviews. So far so good. I've paddled my kayak with it and it did a pretty good job. I believe the handle hole in the paddle blade doesn't allow you to move as much water as a regular paddle but it still gets the job done. I've used the hook handle multiple times to retrieve lures and pull myself closer to trees and it works great. The fact that it doubles as a hook is what sold me. It's not going to be the best item in your kayak but you'll be happy it's there when you need it.

Multi purpose
Great as an emergency oar, hook or to push away from shore before starting the boat. Also good to stick in the water to see if it’s shallow in murky water. Good buy👍

Extends to a full paddle length easily
Nice compact size of 25" with extended size of 72" makes this a very practical paddle that reaches over a boat or pontoon edge while storing away easily. Paddle 'dials' worked great to easily extend or lock in place. Only an out of the box evaluation (and do not plan to use the paddle frequently).

POOR QUALITY PRODUCT AND NO AMAZON GUARANTEE
In June,2009 i bought this paddle in the version which expands from 24-72 inches. I really liked the features of the paddle including the ability to extend or compress it depending on what i was using it for.The quality of the metal part of the paddle seemed good and the orange paddle part also appeared to be of good quality.Unfortunately, I had no need to use it until last week when i was fishing from a small bass boat i own and for which i primarily bought this paddle.I live on a small 35 acre lake and my trolling motor ran out of juice much to my surprise, so i started to hand paddle my way back to my dock..a distance of about 100 yards at the most.I extended the paddle to the 72 inch length and shortly after i began paddling the metal part of the paddle bent and the plastic piece which you loosen and tighten to expand or contract the paddle cracked! Ok, i figured that a paddle like this would be guaranteed for a year so i looked up my amazon acct record today only to find that my "return window" on this item expired in August ,2009!!! I can return this anyway if it is defective for a "partial refund",but only if i pay the shipping charges. All this for what looked cosmetically like a very nice and handy paddle, but turned out to be very poor when i used it. So the purpose of this review is to say...dont buy this even if you only plan to use it in mild water like I did, and dont expect Amazon to stand behind it if you do. Over the years I have bought a lot of items from Amazon, but I will be looking for alternatives in the future due to their poor policies on returns.s

We purchased this paddle as part of the safety equipment required for our boat. It is nice and compact but yet extends long enough that it could be used from the deck of our boat in the event of an emergency. It appears to be well made and sturdy enough for the purpose intended.

Great paddle, worth the extra money over the cheap ones. Very sturdy, nice long length, easy to collapse.

Built well. Tough enough for "emergency" use. Would I want to paddle a canoe with it? no... but that's not what it's intended for.
