Not a beginner's instrument
I was wary about the tuning and sound quality based on previous reviews, but actually playing it myself eased those fears. Don't let it being made of plastic make you think it's not a quality instrument. It takes a bit more air pressure than you might expect to play in tune, but once you have that it's a really good triple ocarina for the price. This isn't a quiet instrument, especially in the higher registers. The high notes on the third chamber are especially piercing. It probably would not need to be amplified in a live performance, but this may also limit your practicing options if noise is a concern. This instrument comes with something of a learning curve, but is highly recommended as a low cost option for a solid triple ocarina.

I am a little disappointed considering this is my first purchase with STL Ocarina
I have been wanting a triple for a while without having to pay a lot of money for it. I paid more than the $7-8 dollars to get it sooner but for it to have arrive in standard shipping times and I had paid $12 for shipping. When it arrived, I got my case that comes with it but NOT my songbook that was advertised to come with the Ocarina, nor did it come with a fingering chart either, but I did receive the case. I know how to read sheet music for Ocarina and I would consider myself an intermediate player, and after spending the extra money that I did to not receive items that were advertised is upsetting. I am a little disappointed considering this is my first purchase with STL Ocarina. As for the ocarina goes, sounds good here and there. I am getting airy notes through out all 3 chambers. I wouldnt say this is a bad Ocarina, its great for learning a Multi-chambered Ocarina. Im just disappointed with paying extra for shipping and not receiving what was advertised

Budget starter ocarina with playability quirks!
This is a decent starter into a triple ocarina if you are on a budget, but I feel like it's more of a "toy" quality than performance quality. First, whereas the finish looks cool in the photos, my ocarina from STL came with a lot of "grit" type distortions in the finish. They seem to be either small bubbles or dirt/dust that were caught while the finish was curing.Because it is plastic, I have a lot of trouble with the windway collecting condensation. It's so bad that it distorts the sounds of the C and D notes in the first chamber. If you don't make an attempt to clear out the condensation, eventually the D will be more air noise than an actual note. This gets to be a problem because as you move up to the second chamber, you go from this forced airy D to the clearer, sweeter sounding notes in the second chamber and it seems totally out of character. After I've played for about 10 minutes, I can't even get through a 2 minute song between "clears." I usually get so frustrated, I switch back to a different ocarina in my collection until this triple has "dried out." I try to compensate with extra breath pressure to blow past condensation, but that has limited success at first before being totally ineffective.Because of STLs very short return policy, I couldn't even return or trade this ocarina for a different one because I missed it by two days before I contacted them.So this is my recommendation, if you aren't serious about learning and want to try a triple -or- if you want an ocarina to take traveling that isn't fragile, this ocarina will do a decent job of letting you play a little music on your travels as long as you don't mind clearing the windway frequently and putting up with the poor pitch in the top of the first chamber. If you want to seriously play a triple ocarina, save your money longer and buy a decent, high quality clay triple.

Early :)
The delivery was very prompt. Suggested a delivery time of the 13th-29th, I got it on the 10th.Product arrived in a well secured manner. Everything seems to be in tact and Looking good. The delivery seemed to be packaged on the side of almost paranoid against damage. As a former handler at a delivery company for over 8 years, and knowing the abuse that boxes can recieve in such a atmosphere, Very satisfied with how it was packed. The next statemet needs the following qualifiers:* The instrument was gotten because it was low price.* It was one I didn't have experience with.- With that in mind... Some of the notes seem very breathy, and I am having issues with playing some of them.- With the lack of experience in advance to know for certain, I can't really tell if it is damaged, or if it's just my personal ineptitude and inexperience with the instrument that causes these problems. Either one could apply, and I wouldn't really know which one it was at this point.** I am personally chalking it up to inexperience at this time, and going to hope that the situation resolves itself as I get more experience. I am hearing clear notes occasionally as I tinker with it, so inclined to think it's just an issue of not playing it properly. With all that in mind... Overall, I am satisfied for now.

Terrible sound. Hope you never need D5.
It is what is says, and it is worth every penny. However, if you have ever played another ocarina, you will not be able to stand to play this one. The tone quality is horrible and several of the chamber 1 notes play airy (D4 in particular) to the point that I would be embarrassed to play this instrument in front of someone else. It is pretty garbage. Buy an instrument that you can actually make music with. STL Ocarinas are in general good (clay) but the only plastic that I have had worth a --thing-- is the Night by Noble 12 hole. Great cheap beginner ocarina. This one? Save your money.

Looks beautiful but sounds a bit harsh on the higher notes
The deeper notes sound nice but the higher ones aren’t very soft and can be quite piercingThe ocarina looks very beautiful though and is a very high quality plastic
