Very nice looking tachometer and easy to install
The media could not be loaded. I bought this tachometer after carefully reading all the reviews here in Amazon and it seemed it is well made and accurate. Finish is excellent. Main reason I needed a tachometer is because I'd like to have an idea what gear I'm in and not have to guess. Anyways install was straight forward. The supplied bracket has a great chrome finish which matches with all the chrome in the bike, also in my case I bought a Voltmeter (also here on Amazon) which I installed using the same bracket since it did not come with one (see pics). Overall, I'm very satisfied with the purchase, it looks great and works perfect. I do agree with some of the other reviewers that illumination at night could be better, dial is fine but the needle pointer is hard to see. Not sure if it is waterproof since I never get the bike out in the rain. Overall, highly recommended.Update: Feb 21, 2023. I bought this Tachometer back in February of 2021. It worked just fine and I was very happy with it until about a month ago when it just started acting erratically; the needle would not read at all or jump all over the dial. I did double check all the connections and everything was properly hooked up; no loose or cut wires found. Too bad it quit given the quality of the unit seems very well constructed. It serves to also mention I do not ride the bike in the rain and I always keep it garaged. So sad.

Biker's Choice Electronic Custom Mini Tachometer on 2009 Suzuki Boulevard C50
Installed on a 2009 Suzuki Boulevard C50 which has a single fire dual coil engine. This tachometer requires a tach adapter to function correctly. It is suggested as frequently bought together with a BARON Tach Adapter Single Fire- BA-7315-50. Many state these don't work together and did not for me either. Purchase a Compu-Fire Electronic Tach Adapter 51105 instead as this works great with the Tachometer (Search for it on Amazon and read my review - Compu-Fire Electronic Tach Adapter 51105 vs BARON Tach Adapter Single Fire- BA-7315-50. I mounted the tach on the right engine guard but used a mount from a Drag Specialties, DRAG SPECIALTIES Mini Speedometer/Tachometer Clamp DS-243803 (Part Number: 21-6808A1-BC202). The tachometer does bound a bit on low RPM but stabilizes at 5K. I am satisfied with this Tachometer and if you are considering it for your ride, you may like it too.

Works perfectly for an '00 Vulcan 500!
On my '00 Kawasaki Vulcan EN500 LTD, because of the chin piece of my modular helmet, I cannot always see the speedometer without taking my eyes off the road. So, I read that a tachometer mounted on the handlebars, once you get used to it, can tell you everything you need to know about what speed and what gear you're in (another of my issues since I can barely hear the engine at speed). I originally ordered one of those cheap ($15) tachs thinking, "what the heck, for $15, I'll give it a shot." Spent a good portion of the day getting (jury-rigged) mounting hardware and wiring and connectors and everything I'd need for the installation. Got it all installed and... nuthin. The light came on but, the needle didn't move a millimeter. I tried several different wiring tactics, still nuthin. So, I returned it and was promptly refunded (thank you Amazon). Did a little more research and came upon this unit. Now, I've been confused about single fire vs. dual fire and which my '00 Vulcan 500 is but, this tach was a reasonable price, and I knew they'd take it back if it didn't work so, I ordered it. I have two coils but, I believe they fire at the same time (wasted fire). Within 10 minutes it was connected and working - no adapters needed. Another 10 minutes and it was completely installed using the INCLUDED mounting hardware (yay) and I was taking it for a test ride. I've had it on the bike for about 5 days now and took it for a three-hour ride the other day. Not a single issue. The needle is steady and the reading, as far as I can tell, is accurate... or, at least it's accurate enough for me to know that vital speed and gear information. I will update if anything goes awry.My next step is to attach some LEDs to the face of the unit that mirror my temp, oil, and turn signal indicators (that I also cannot see while riding).
