D'Addario Accessories Glass Slide, Medium

I bought this slide for a second guitar, open tuned. I wanted to be able to have a small slide ineach guitar case for convenience. I already had a Planet Waves Glass Slide and have enjoyedusing it for most of my open tuning blues songs as well as other genre.-- Stats -------------------------------------Length: 1-15/16 inch [ 49.2mm ]Inside Diameter: 5/8 inch [ 15.87mm ]Outside Diameter: 1 Inch [ 25.4mm ]The glass slide, more precisely a 'boron silicate' slide, can be worn on my hand, on the pinky andthird fingers, almost to the second knuckle. It fits securely and has never come loose or fallen off.I can not get the slide on the index or middle fingers and this was expected.I use a small slide instead of a full length for two reasons. First; I am able to move the small lightglass slide around the fingerboard much faster. It is less cumbersome and lighter than a full lengthbrass or steel slide. Second; I like the short slide for lead playing and, if need be, can move fasterwith more accuracy on the strings. I don't need to unnecessarily mute the other strings that arenot in contact with the slide. I just feel more agile using the smaller slide for lead.I like the tone of the glass slide on my strings. Generally it sounds more crisp and bright even withNickel strings on my electric and Phosphor-bronze on my Resonator. I recommend for those whohave not tried other types of slides to also get a steel slide and a brass slide. Both tones are verydifferent from the glass, which tends to provide a more clean tone in comparison. Steel can give anasty old blues sound and brass has a mellow sound, all things being equal among the three.I give this slide 5 stars because simply works well. It is nicely polished, there are no sharp edgesanywhere on the slide, and has a smooth inside surface. I have purchased other Planet Wavesitems and find their workmanship very good to excellent. About the only thing I don't like is the fact it's glass and fragile they never seem to last but this is a little thicker and solid and I love the glass tone and feel going to try and take care of this one

Unfortunately sizing is an issue. I have medium to small hands and thought a medium would fit me best, wrong. The best fit is a large to my surprise. I guess my fingers area little fatter than I thought? Once you get the correct size though these are super comfortable. I like the sound of glass but will also be getting a brass one because they both provide different tonal qualities. It's by no means easy to get used to but with some practice you'll be surprised how good it sounds. I wouldn't say by any means I'm proficient at playing slide yet but I can get a few notes in here and there that just sound distinct and juicy! If you want a serious defining sound to have in your toolkit that doesn't cost you hundreds of dollars (insert any guitar pedal here) this IS what you need!

Great fit and easy to use

My partner likes to play guitar using this little do-dad.

I love this little slide. Thick and smooth (giggity) I got the shorter one and it fits great over my pinky. I have normal size hands for someone who is 5’7” 145lbs. It’s short enough that it doesn’t stick over the top of my finger and gives me precise control.

These work for me as I do not need a larger slide, and the smaller ones are too small. Always keep a slide in my guitar cases.

This slide is the exact size I was hoping for. I can confirm the listed size is correct - 48mm long and inside measurement of 17mm, which matches a metal slide I’ve been learning with. This glass slide is a bit lighter though and, I believe as a result, a little more forgiving. My hands/fingers are likely smaller than most so this slide may not be a good choice for medium to large hands.

Well packaged. Nice thick glass. Not afraid it will break if i drop it. I chose the large which is supposed to be 21.5 inner. Mine is 20mm inner and a bit too too tight for my pinky. Surprisingly, i can hardly hear the difference when compared to my brass slide other than the fact the brass is a little bit brighter.

Decidí volver a darle una oportunidad a tocar slide blues, ya que tuve un slide Dunlop bonito pero muy delgado y largo que eventualmente se rompió y que no sentía que me diera mucho sustain o un tono bonito como los de algunos guitarristas de slide como Derek Trucks o Duane Allman. Este slide es todo lo contrario, no solo es gruesisismo y siento que me da muchísimo tono, además es cortito así que puedo colocarlo y ocupa fácilmente dos falanges, dejando la porción proximal del dedo completamente móvil y así no tengo que forzar mi mano o mi muñeca para lograr una adecuada posición del slide en el diapasón. Yo no tengo dedos muy largos y me quedó bastante bien. Quede muy feliz con este slide :D
