Valley Enterprises comes through again
Valley's FTDI cables are always reliable. This one was for an old VX-7R that was donated to our school radio club. It works well, and since it uses the FTDI chipset, I was confident it would work. And it did.

The picture of this Item depicts a USB cable. While the actual item has a serial port.Seller should at least provide a description.Other than that cable works perfectly using the free commander software.

High Quality USB USB Serial Cable
Delivered promptly. Data transfer from phone to computer works as specified. This USB programing cable contains a legal FTDI serial chip, where many others USB cables contain an illegal copy serial chip, which does not always work. I recommend this cable mostly because it does not contain an illegal copy serial chip.This USB programming cable also works with the CHIRP app on Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks without having to install any serial driver. If you run Mac OS X earlier than OS X 10.9, then you have to install a serial driver.

Works with every Windows 10 computer I have
No driver issues. Works with my desktop and laptops with no problems. Worth the money.

Works fine on Windows (10) and MacOS
Plug it in both ends, fire up whatever software you are using to manage your radio and off you go.This one is for myYaesu VX-7R. I have used it with two pieces of software (ChiRP and VX7 Commander). Works fine with both.I think it's a little over-priced, but it does work.
