Developlus Color Oops Color Remover (Extra Strength) (Pack of 2)

I was so nervous to use it because of the mixed reviews but I had a great experience and I don’t know what people are talking about but the smell is not bad. I followed the directions to a T and I do still smell the product after washing it, but it did not bother me. It Does say on the direction to pointed away from your face while mixing it. I’m guessing they change the formula because of all the bad reviews about the smell? I barely smelled it until after I rinsed it out!! This is what my hair looked like before and after color oops, prior to using it I got caramel highlights and previous to that I had gotten my hair darkened after highlighting it at a salon, so I’m assuming it got light because it removes the color that they put on the salon to cover my highlights when I went dark again. It was a medium chocolate brown that I had, and look at all this color that I got out!! Now I’m ready to lighten it a little bit more. I recommend you get at least 2 to 3 boxes If you have long hair like me and you wanna saturate every strand, I’m very happy with the results. I will definitely use it in the future.

SoI did something bold which is in my natureand I dyed my hair black. Thinking back to how good it looked before. Well let me tell you what a tragedy unfolded in my bathroom that day. It just didn't look good on me this time around. I mean it looked horrific. Super duper bad. As I gazed in disbelief at the rachet swamp creature staring back at me in the mirror, I really began to regret my bold nature and what not. Everyone knows you can't get black out of your hair.And I thought to myself,well shit.Then by the grace of our heavenly Father above (and Amazon) I found this stuff.It worked a miracle, I don't know how exactly but it absolutely erased my bad choice and I'm back to caramel hair with butter highlights.Yes, it even brought back my highlights,sweet baby Jesus.Alchemy is real. If only we had something like this to erase bad life decisions too, amiright?!?The only downside is the super ballsy aggressive acting ingredient is sodium hydrosulfite, and all you chemistry majors out there - you know what that means.Sulfur.So, yep, I smell like a huge fart right now.A huge happy gorgeous fart though,remember that.

I wouldn’t necessarily call this a miracle worker as others did, but it basically came out as expected.I have thick, medium brown hair that touches to the middle of my back. I have dyed and highlighted my hair multiple times in the past 3 years. I started out with some highlights, and then got sick of the lighter hair and changed to dying my hair dark chocolate brown. I kept dying my hair to keep up with the roots, and then I finally got sick of dying my hair altogether. This seemed like the way to go as spending $50 on hair products and DIY-ing it sounded better than a $300+ salon visit, and I figured I could always go to the salon if I completely screwed it up.I went through the Color Oops process twice (24 hours apart from each other just to see the results) using two boxes of Extra Strength each time for the full 20 minutes. After the first time, I could tell a slight difference however not as much as I expected. I did rinse my hair for 45 minutes in total, shampooing 3 or so times. The first time I did this I rinsed in the sink with my head bent over it…DO NOT DO THAT. My neck hurt for three days straight afterwards. The second time I did it I just rinsed in the shower which was much easier. I used an argan oil based deep conditioner afterwards each time which left my hair almost as soft as it was before. It was still kinda dark and brassy overall but definitely closer to the medium brown I began with years ago. The roots came out a completely different color than the rest of the hair, a light brown with A LOT of red in it. I assume it came out that way because the roots have only been dyed once and maybe I shouldn’t have left it on for the full twenty on my roots each time, but I thought it would be too difficult to evenly distribute the color from the roots down and not have a distinct line. So I bought a box of Foam Permanent Color in light brown (the box and everyone on here said go lighter). I put the color on my roots only and left it in for 3 minutes after I saw the color looked very dark. After rinsing, it was still lighter than the rest of my hair however there’s not as much of a distinct line and it’s less noticeable.I will recommend using John Frieda Color Glaze after this process if your hair came out too brassy. I bought the kind for cool-toned browns. I do have some red/warmth to my hair color naturally, but the glaze neutralizes the brassiness without making it look ashy (I also leave it on the roots only for a few minutes which makes the hair color seem more seamless as well).Also- the smell was not as bad as everyone was saying. I didn’t notice it at all while I was using the product. I noticed a slight eggy smell in my apartment the next day after leaving and then coming back, but a few candles and some fans rid the apartment of the scent completely within a few hours.

All the positive reviews assume that people with negative reviews didn't do it correctly, or were trying to use it on the wrong hair dye.I have medium brown hair naturally and I've been using an oxidative, demi permanent, black hair dye every 6-8 weeks for the last 8 months or so. I used TWO boxes of this stuff in extra strength to make sure my shoulder length hair was fully saturated. I let it develop 20 minutes and I did the shampoo+ 20 minute rinse, and shampooed my hair and rinsed again another four times. All in all, I was rinsing my hair for almost 40 minutes with the hottest water I could (by the end, the hot water ran out). All it did was make my roots and first two inches or so a really ugly orange color, and left the majority of my hair still jet black. My hair STILL stinks horrible, despite the 40 minutes of shampooing and rinsing. MAYBE this works if you've only dyed your hair once or twice recently, or with a weaker brand of dye or something? It did Jack for mine and just made my roots brassy and my hair stink. Never using it again. :(

SELLER Feedback: I will not take off a star for this, but the seller: "Mango Six B&M" sold me TWO boxes that BOTH had the large solution bottle with taped back up caps on, only half of the solution in it and wrapped in bubble tape. The other (small) solution bottle appeared to be full, but the lid was ALSO taped on. I had to combine the two bottles from each box. THank GOD I already bought a box of this stuff from CVS before this order arrived (I couldn't wait and I have long hair, so I thought I may need two treatments and then I forgot that this order already had two boxes coming). I am literally sitting here, with the solution on my hair (for a second application) from combining the contents of both boxes, hoping that it's not going to F-up my hair (WHY THE HELL was the solution bottle half full/empty??).PRODUCT Feedback: I have naturally blond hair that was dyed dark brown forever (past 9 1/2 years) and then I went burgundy/red for a long while with bouts of dark brown root touch-ups. Mostly box dye, with some salon dye-jobs in between. I saw my blond roots as they were growing out lately and now I had a rainbow mess and thought: "You know, I'm not turning gray yet and I'll be graying within the next 15 years, I bet, so maybe going back to blond will be less cumbersome and easier to maintain, since I'm naturally a blonde anyway!" - I want to go almost platinum and priced it out. With color correction, to get the red and dark brown out, I was looking at $150/ hour at a salon and I saw that women who were doing the same thing, were taking up to 6 hours in the salon! I don't know about you, but I don't have that kind of dough lying around.1st application, was yesterday. I was impressed. The red/brown came out and I did see a LOT of orange tint in my hair, but I expected that. Especially since I put a lot of harsh red (box dye) pigment into it AND my blond is a really brassy/ yellow/ orange one anyway. I thought that I shampooed and then rinsed enough, but I may not have. After a while, after a blow-out, today, it looks a bit darker. I read up and found that I did not rinse enough (do not rinse until water is clear, just KEEP rinsing for 20 minutes).Here I am right now, reapplying a 2nd application (using Olaplex treatment with it, so that my hair integrity is not compromised by the peroxide) because I still have a dark band of hair that goes around my head, above my ears that is still noticeable after the first lift (must have been a certain salon or box dye job that was different from the rest. It was already a darker shade than the rest of my head before attempting this color lift).After writing that last paragraph, I went and rinsed for 20 minutes. Holy moly, that is an exercise in patience....rinsing for an ENTIRE 20 minutes!All in all, it works great. just be ready to use a purple shampoo or toner to eliminate serious brassiness and use Olaplex and a deep conditioning treatment to insert moisture back into the hair shaft. I am going to put coconut oil in my hair for the rest of the day after the Olaplex treatment formula 2 that I have in my hair is rinsed out. I will probably give my hair another day of rest after this before I start bleaching. The poor dear has been through enough already.

After seeing some videos and reading a few positive experiences from other henna users whom used this to lighten, I decided to give it a try.Backstory: I use "Wine Red" from Henna Color Lab (online product based in Oregon). I have been using this product for 2 years & I color my entire head of hair each time.Based on my experience, this product did not work for my hair except to lighten the top 1/2 inch only VERY slightly (in fact I'm not sure if it even did or not). Keep in mind however, that Wine Red is quite a dark color and I've been coloring my hair for a little 2 years (probably 8-10 times!) - it's pretty saturated to say the least. If you are using a lighter henna and/or have only dyed your hair once or twice, you may have some success with this product, but if you're in the same boat as me, I can definitely save you the trouble and assure you that it will not work (to be fair, I don't think the product claims to work with henna anyways - it was just a shot in the dark since others had some success)!Some general pros were:- It was easy to apply- It didn't take long to use (20 minutes only!)Some general cons were:- It was very drying- It smelled terrible- All that rinsing was rough! My scalp even felt a little numb from it!If it had of worked, the cons would have been no big deal to me at all!Thanks and best luck! :)

I am naturally a strawberry blond, but have been using an 8G color for 20+ years to add a little more red. I am a fan of the natural look. I decided to go a little darker with a 7C. BIG MISTAKE! It was way too dark and looked like FAKE red on me. I tried to color it again with my old color but it barely touched it. I was horrified and I wore a hat for days to hide my hair until I found this product. COLOR OOPS WAS A LIFE SAVER!!! I am so grateful. It removed the horrible dark color and restored things back to my natural color, or at least very close. It came with everything needed. The process was easy, but took a while because I followed the directions exactly. The process itself only took 20 minutes, but involved 4 washings and a total of 35 minutes of just rinsing. The smell wasn’t too bad, despite the claims. It smells like when I used to get my hair permed back in the 80’s and the scent sticks with you for a few days, but it’s subtle.Thank you Color Oops!

I've used this product several times. It works exactly as it's supposed to work if you spend the extensive amount of time you need to completely wash it out. The only problem with it is the people who don't understand HOW it's supposed to work. 😫Color removers almost always turn your hair orange. They don't magically restore your natural hair color. Why? Because you PERMANENTLY CHANGED YOUR HAIR COLOR. Whatever you did to it-dark, light, red, black-you removed at least SOME OF your natural color. It doesn't exist anymore. So when you remove that permanent color by using products like these, you're left with the LIFTED RESULT of your hair before the color was applied. AKA orange. Depending on the products you've used to color your hair and how your natural hair reacted to those products, the lighter or darker that orange might be.Bottom line: You use a color remover so that you can do something like a bleach bath a few weeks afterward and apply A NEW, usually LIGHTER color. You don't use a color remover thinking you're going to get back to who you were before you CHEMICALLY PROCESSED your hair for 5+ years. Hope this helps.

This worked excellently! I died my hair with a golden blonde permanent colour that turned out brown on my blonde hair. It was so dark! I used two boxes of this because I have very thick and quite long hair, and my hair is back to normal!! It’s light and blonde again, such a relief! It does stink! My hair smelled really bad when I went to sleep last night while it was still damp but this morning the smell has reduced significantly. But the smell is worth it!! I highly recommend!
