Evans Clear 200 Snare Side Drum Head, 14 Inch

Seriously, drop this Evans (Awesome!) head on an inexpensive Popcorn snare shell, Even an under $30 "Clary" 10", Add a sparse layer of Cheap, synthetic pillow stuffing (stops ring and dries the tone, replace the wires with an upgraded, but not expensive new strainer. Tune as tight as you like-- both heads, and you'll have an inexpensive, Snappy Rebound Hot/dry, and Loud snare/Tom. I own two as part of an 11 pc kit. My main snare and my #1 Tom which really POPS out Great, multiple notes from center to rim and I swear by them! This 10" snare replaced my beautiful and stinging Pearl 13" piccolo. Sets a different/better? downbeat that fits multiple genres. A little Stewart Copeland and Jazz pitch to it.

I am a very heavy hitter and I have already put a lot of dents and it hasn’t lost tone compared to my other one the extra money was definitely worth it with these

I like the crispy sound of my snare with this drum head.

I switched to Evans drum heads back in the 90's and haven't looked back since. I always have a great experience with Evans; the heads sit flat on my bearing edges break in and tune easily and stay that way with only touch ups needed for different rooms. I've never had a warped head or a hoop pull out of an Evans head unlike other brands I've used. I've even put them on entry level kits and made them sound like much more expensive ones!
