Great rice. I made some risotto for lunch today, and it had that perfect, slightly nutty, texture with great flavor in itself. It was made even better (don't laugh) by mixing in some creamy Irish (!) cheese. I ordered this and another variety of risotto rice in 1 kg bags from Amazon the same day. They packed it with some heavy jars of fish oil capsules, however, and both rice sacks tore. Luckily, the north and south ends of the box were blocked by the four big bottles of fish oil, so I could get each variety of rice into a separate jar. My advice? Don't order anything else at the same time as this rice.

...you'll learn the different varieties of grain that you can use in the process. I usually use arborio but thought I would give carnaroli a shot this time. One of the things I appreciated about it was how much larger it got after cooking. There was a significant increase which allowed 1 1/2 cups dry to turn into more like 3 cups prepared. It was more than enough to feed two of us and still have leftovers. And I still have another 4 cups or so remaining in the bag. So from this standpoint, there's good value there. I will say, the prep took quite a while and you must be patient with the cooking process. I'm going to give pressure cooking a shot and hope to have some decent results. Overall, if you'd like something a little different and don't mind a bit more of a challenge, this might be fun for a weekend project.

Product produced a delicious, creamy risotto. Allow at least 45-60 minutes cooking time for this rice (at least in a risotto). It's a slow process, but results in a delicious dish.

Similar to Risotto purchased at a market. I ordered based on a recommendation on Food Network. We did a taste test using the regular risotto purchased at a supermarket and the Carnaroli. There was no detectable difference.
