Bluf: This sheath was a perfect fit, and the right durability for my blade. I got this handmade alaskan skinning knife about 13 years ago. The first few days I had it, it cut through the leather sheath like butter. So I glued it and then it cut through again. Ive never carried the skinning knife because of how dangerously sharp and thin the leather sheath was. Finally after a long time I ordered a new one, this sheath. I was skeptical about the fit and durability but I was way wrong the Ottoza leather sheath is a perfect fit for a typical Alaskan skinning knife, super thick, and firm. I feel confident carrying my iconic blade atlast and in a horizontal carry position too. What a great product and great leather craftsmanship. I will order another for my tracker knife no doubt, thanks.

Just fits my Benchmade Saddle Mountain Fixed-Blade Knife. Blade Length is 4.2 inches long. Wish the strap would hold the knife more securely. I can pull it out of the sheath without unbuckling the strap. Not sure of the durability yet but seems to be well made.

The knife I bought this for has the appropriate blade and handle length to meet the size requirements, however the swell of the handle is too fat for the second snap to be closed. If the leather around the male end of the snap was shaved down or thinner, this wouldn't be a problem and would actually hold the knife in place well as it's a good snug fit over all. But since it can't quite reach, I've added a lanyard to loop around the strap and hold the knife in place until I can find some one that knows how to make the alterations I need. I would try my hand at it, but I'm not a leather worker and don't want to mess it up as overall the sheath is amazingly comfortable in the small of my back, holds the ferro rod with no issues, and is well made.

I love scout carry but most of these sheaths are so big I'd look like Jason from the Halloween movies if I were to actually carry a blade that fits them. This is perfect for a 4" fixed blade - I'm using it with the Schrade SCHF13SM (available on Amazon) which is a perfect sized fixed blade knife without being so large it looks intimidating. For less than $60 you can have a 1095 Carbon steel fixed blade knife and a great scout carry sheath that's great for EDC. Not in the office but definitely on camping trips, around the ranch or farm or just doing chores around the garage.

I purchased this as a gift. He loves the sheath and says it is comfortable to wear. One problem we have is that the knife cut through the stitching at the end and now the tip of the knife pokes out. He had worn it for only two days when this happened.

I absolutely love this Sheath. The leather is very thick. The stitching and styling are excellent. It fits my Gerber gator drop point fixed blade knife perfectly.
