Just Add Watercolor: Inspiration and Painting Techniques from Contemporary Artists

This book has a lot of creative examples of what can be done with watercolor and related media, along with tips on how they were made. Contemporary pieces that go beyond typical landscape or seascape scenes. Would recommend to those who are looking for inspiration and want to widen their scope.

Found the book well written and informative. Have reach for it a couple times when doing some practices.

Very inspirational little book with loads of different watercolor techniques and how they’ve been put to use in actual pieces of art.

I didn’t warm to the many very modern and unique pieces of art. Note the title is about “contemporary” artists going beyond realism.

A book worth having even if you do not paint in watercolor. The book provides many inspirational ideas regarding style and technique. Not a how-to-book per se; more like a hint or idea book. The art presented is varied from many different artists. I brought the book with me on an art vacation and looked at every night just to get the creative juices flowing. Compact size makes it easy to carry a long. The unique table of contents layout makes quick work to find a particular painting.

So beautiful and inspiring. I love it. I gave it to my niece because when she was looking at it her face lit up.

Well I didn’t dislike this product, However, I did believe that the book would contain watercolor painting pages experiment techniques that are in the book.. I mean, the title is Just Add Watercolor!

I love this book! It's a cute size but rather thick so lots of beautiful artwork on show. I'm reasonably new to watercolours but didn't want a book that focused on your "typical" watercolour style that you often find in beginners books (so I'm also a huge fan of the work in Urban Watercolour Sketching).Just Add Watercolour certainly isn't a "how to" book; rather, an assortment of techniques and styles with a bit of information to tell you how the piece was put together and some ideas for achieving a similar look, although there is some information at the back about watercolour in general - paper, brushes, etc. Wonderful to pick up and have a flick through if you're interested in trying a new style or technique and for general inspiration.

A delightful book with superbly chosen and inspirational artwork. Each image is accompanied with a page of 'how to' tips. The sort of book that makes you want to reach for your art box and get creating.

Full of info and tips. Quite a small book that won't stay open so it's a bit fiddly to use as a reference book.

Very cheap and my first art book bought on Kindle. It is lovely to always have it to hand to flick through. This was recommended through a course I was doing on Domestika.
