It's like I'm playing a different instrument!
I upgraded from cheap strings and it's like I'm playing a different instrument!I'm a beginner violinist and right now play on a $400 student-grade instrument. The strings that came with it were cheap so I Iooked around for a synthetic gut replacement. I read the review pasted below from fshinviolins.com and descided to try them out. Definitely worth $50!"This new string was introduced as a "student" string which is curious because they are priced higher than the Pirastro Tonica strings. After some experimentation I understood why Pirastro is marketing them the way they are. The Violino has a warm, full tone that seems to work well with new student instruments, especially those of European origin, with bright, somewhat hard tone. These strings seem to take away some of the "edge". "

Mellow sound without being dead
Loved these. Using them on a new Gand from Kennedy Violins. Perfect sound for mine. Great quality for the price. I have found my new set. The E on these isn't bad either. Think I still prefer the Pirastro Gold E with these as the mix for me.

I am a professional violinist. Overall these are a great set of strings
I am a professional violinist and have used these strings for a couple years. The sound cuts through and has a lot of warmth. I tend to use a less harsh E string, but the E string in this set is great too. It's just a little too treble for my taste. Overall these are a great set of strings.

An upgrade for me.
I have been using strings in the $30 range, and I wanted to see if these indeed produce a sound warmer and still focused. They are just what my too-piercing violin needed. Responsive, warm, and smooth. Will purchase again.

Silky Belgian Milk Chocolate
Very nice. Very very nice. If you want to balance a bright, punchy violin, these strings are ideal. The sound production is more than ample...but pleasant...AND elegant. NOTE: these strings are LOW tension. The E is especially forgiving. I’ve played the violin for 40 years. These strings are a superb choice for a moderate string. Turn your ax into a Strad!

Great strings for those that need to project their sound most!
I bought these strings for my Scott Cao 850 Soil violin. I decided to take a chance and take the advice of another reviewer. I love how much louder my Cao is now with these strings! Granted I normally play mariachi music and I am usually the only one on violin. That being said I have to project as much as possible without sacrificing sound. I will say the G and D strings seem to have a dark sound but I love the A and E. I had never deviated from Tonica as they are tried and true for my needs. I'm glad I took a chance.

Nice, warm Strings
I tried some other strings on my violin and finally settled on these. They have a nice warm, mellow tone that matches my loud and bright violin. They take some time to break in, like 1-2 days so be patient when you first put them on.

Refined my violin's sound
These changed a loud/bright student violin into much more refined/mature sound. They do take longer to settle than other brands I've used. I don't think they're perfect for all violins, but for mine they definitely were.
