Me and my partner often eat on the couch while watching TV. I was hesitant to get a lift top coffee table for fear of it accidentally falling or crashing dropping food or plates.This table was too cheap to pass up and so I ordered it.It’s perfect! Easy to assemble and great sturdy materials. The top comes preconfigured so after attaching it lifts and operates normal. It locks in the upright position which is great since it won’t just fall when you put weight on it or bump into it.I wouldn’t put a lot of weight on it since it is only rated for 40lbs but it definitely can hold food, drink, and decoration without issue.Time will tell how it holds up but overall we give it a 10/10

I was pleasantly surprised to see the top part with the hinges was already assembled. This made the assembly very easy. The only slightly challenging part were the four screws in the corners of the storage area. I would recommend a longer handled allen wrench then what's provided. I did it with the small wrench provided but it was hard and it took a while to get them tight. I wanted a smaller one and this 38 inch table fits in perfectly with my living room. The top comes up very easily and locks in place and you just have to pull a screw like thing (don't know what to call it) in the storage area to put it down. It goes down and lifts up very easily with one hand. It's very sturdy and was received without any damage. I was able to get good size baskets for underneath. I would highly recommend the table if you're on a budget. It looks much more expensive than what I paid.

I bought this natural wood table for its closed storage area, and ability to raise the top use it for a desk for a lap top, and just bring food, or coffee etc. closer when seated on the couch. The assembly was quick (about 20 minutes) and easy, with well drilled holes. The holes were straight, and it fit fairly well, but the sections do not smoothly line up to each other - about a 1/16 inch offset in several areas. After assembly, the table was sturdy and did not wobble. The natural color is good. It is not all natural wood planking as advertised. It appears to be a good veneer. The drawer bottom (section below the lid) is paper, and will not be able to take much weight. I planned to store books inside, and besides the problem with a paper liner, the area inside is not very big. so will have to use the bottom shelf instead. I have some woven water hyacynth baskets that fit underneath as well, and the fact that it has only two sections instead of the three in similar tables gives more flexibility for larger items to be stored on the bottom shelf. The table does have a weight limit of 45 lbs so do not lean or sit on it. The wood is not completely smooth, and the coating is rough, and slightly thin or white in some areas. The hinge mechanism has a beefy spring, and a stop that is to allow it to support extra weight. It can be raised less than the full height if light items such as a meal, a drink, or magazine were placed on it, but should be raised to where it locks in place for heavier items, or to keep it in a raised position.. There is a released knob when it is ready to be lowered. The feet on the legs consist of glued fabric, and fell off as I was assembling the table. It would be worth investing in hard plastic ones that normally are nailed to the bottom of the legs, to allow the table to slide on a floor or carpet. Some furniture have plastic covers for the holes left in the assembly. This did not, although most of the holes were out of sight. The hinge mechanism had large very rusted bolts and this is not acceptable for a new item, nor choice of material. I will get a replacement and see if the problem is consistent. The wood also had some discolored areas that looked like it had been exposed to moisture. I wiped of grey and green in a couple of spots. The soft cardboard packaging was ripped in some areas, and the red ribbon taped to the back of the assembly hardware was sticking out through a hole. It is curious what purpose the ribbon has, because it did not help get the hardware out of the packaging.I received the replacement and looked at the hardware. They are iron and either painted, plated or galvanized except for the hinge bolts, which have no coating and could rust again.

I didn’t expect this to be as good as it is! My son assembled it quickly and easily. It’s much sturdier than I expected. The finish is nice. I use it as an all purpose desk, use my laptop on it and use it as an eating space. I have my supplies in baskets beneath it. I also have supplies and papers etc in the under top compartment. The surface sometimes gets cluttered and then some stuff conveniently falls off into the compartment so it’s sort of a self cleaning table top LOL!!! It has feet that slide with just the right amount of friction on my laminate floors which I appreciate as I shift it’s position often. I know if company comes I can quickly stash the stuff on top and lower the top and have a normal looking coffee table. The only negative is that the stabilizing structure for the top does not allow reaching into the compartment as easily from the sitter’s side as from the far side. The other possible negative is the height of the raised table is not very high. I’ve become accustomed to it so it works for me. A pretty great product overall for this price.

This is a nice solid wood table. It is real varnished wood, not particle board or engineered wood. The table uses cam locks to hold it together, which makes for sturdy and tight construction if you follow instructions and make sure you fasten them carefully and thoroughly. Putting it together isn't too bad as long as you follow instructions and don't let yourself get overwhelmed. The finish is nice but i do feel like it will scratch fairly easily if you aren't careful. I recommend putting a table runner or a couple of really nice cloth placemats on it to protect the top. The lift top is nice and practical for storage

I really like this table - its sturdy and good quality and looks much more expensive that what I paid for it. I love the top that lifts up and its so useful for zoom sessions. It was pretty easy to put together too. The downside are some blemishes on top of the table. One of them looks pretty bad - it was poorly patched up by the manufacturer with paint that is slightly off color from the rest of the table (see pics above). I would have returned it but it would have been difficult to fit all the pieces back in the box and I have 3 destructive kids who will scratch it up anyway so I kept it. However, even if I did return it, I would have ordered another one because its a really nice solid wood table.
